With a record of 9 - 3 - 0, fighting out of London, Owen Alvarez!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Alvarez moves out of range of the body kick.
Nice defenses there by Wright.
Alvarez moving in and out of range nicely, whilst landing the scoring shot.
Wright connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.
Alvarez misses with a left hand
and Wright counters with a straight right hand.

Wright lands a big head kick that sends Alvarez tumbling to the mat! Wright takes a step backwards and waves Alvarez back to his feet - he wants the finish!

It looks like Owen Alvarez has been cut.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Wright appears to be looking for a counter punch to the body.

Wright throws a right hand that Alvarez ducks under and follows up with a left that Alvarez also avoids with ease.
Alvarez drops down looking to force a counter takedown but Wright defends it well.
Alvarez lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected.
Alvarez seems to have recovered his senses.
Wright walks forward and throws out a flicking leg kick. Alvarez checks it nicely though, as he moves to the side.

Wright turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick.

Wright lands a right hand that snaps the head of Alvarez backwards.
Wright wants to get back to striking at distance but Alvarez won't allow it.
Wright tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage.
We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Alvarez has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.

Alvarez works for underhooks and lands a body shot in the process.
Alvarez drops down looking for an ankle pick but Wright pulls his leg out and moves away.

Carter Wright is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Wright throws a lazy right hand but Alvarez sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.

Wright sends Alvarez crashing to the mat with a devastating uppercut! Wright is motioning to the referee to let Alvarez up. He wants to try and finish this one on the feet!
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

With the fighters clinched against the cage, Alvarez creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut.
Wright tries to work over Alvarez's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target.
The fighters are pressed against the cage, as the pace of the fight slows.

Alvarez drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Wright gets the underhooks and prevents it.

Alvarez uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Wright.

The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Wright looks to throw the jab but Alvarez is out of range.

Alvarez fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Wright, pushing him back against the cage.

and Wright counters with a nice right hand that sends Alvarez toppling to the canvas! Alvarez scrambles and gets back to his feet - can Wright finish him?!
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Alvarez tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Wright manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Wright is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.
Alvarez is wiping some vaseline out of his eye. Wright doesn't give a rats ass about fair play and cracks him with a massive hook to the side of the head! Alvarez crumples to the floor out cold! The cornerman is going to be in Alvarez's bad books for that mishap!

A relieved looking Carter Wright thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
