The judges for this bout are John Kavanagh, Franklyn Lucas and Eddie Farnsworth.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hughes displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Azul throws out the jab.
Azul tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Hughes was well out of range. Poor timing from Azul.
Azul jabs Hughes to the body, keeping him at a distance.
Hughes shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Azul pinned against the cage. Azul gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Azul tried to counter with a leg kick but Hughes avoided it.

We've been hearing reports that Azul has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight.
Marcus Hughes seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Azul uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Hughes.
