Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Timmy Flowers (ranked 2646 p4p, 5593 weight class) and Nikolai Tsavieva (ranked 319 p4p, 542 weight class). Flowers comes to the cage accompanied by You Think I Ain't Worth a Dollar But I Feel Like A Millionaire by Queens of. Nikolai Tsavieva will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 9 - 12 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Nikolai Tsavieva!
The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, Frank Antenori and Don Winkell.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Flowers shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Tsavieva manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
Flowers controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
Tsavieva escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Flowers gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Flowers is pushing down on Tsavieva's leg trying to pass to half guard. Tsavieva is fighting to maintain full guard but Flowers has managed to sneak the leg through.

Flowers frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount.

Flowers has improved his flexibility recently so we will have to see if he can use that to his advantage.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

Flowers has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Flowers is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Tsavieva has managed to escape the submission attempt.
Flowers takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

Flowers avoids the attempt from Tsavieva to control.
Tsavieva might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Flowers haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.

Horrible takedown attempt by Flowers or perhaps it was just good defense by Tsavieva, which made it look bad.
Flowers looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.

Flowers is looking for a kimura but Tsavieva is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Flowers to get the leverage.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

This is a sustained period of stalling by Flowers.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Flowers seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Tsavieva for as long as he can get away with.
Tsavieva really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Flowers. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
