Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between John Fury (ranked 118 p4p, 299 weight class) and Eemeli Lampi (ranked 17 p4p, 44 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the light heavyweight championship of the world! Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 12 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, John Fury! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 11 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Eemeli Lampi! The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, Jack Bonds and Timothy Bukovac.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Fury tries to close the distance and clinch up but Lampi swats him away and circles back towards the center. Lampi feints a counter leg kick. Lampi keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.
Fury has Lampi up against the cage in a clinch.

Fury throws a punch but it's blocked by Lampi. Still in the clinch, Fury scores with a nice short uppercut. I was talking to Fury's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight. Fury throws a punch but it's blocked by Lampi. Fury throws a hook to the body. More of an arm punch but it's all scoring with the judges. Fury throws a head punch that misses. Fury tries a body shot but Lampi blocks it.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Fury has a couple of punches blocked by Lampi.

Well, with Lampi on his back, surely it's only a matter of time before Fury is tapping out... Can he escape the position? This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Lampi working for a RNC but it's not happening just yet. Fury is trying to get back to his feet but he's not managed it yet. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Lampi looking to finish the fight with a rear naked choke. Fury is controlling Lampi 's left arm and he spins nicely into guard. Lampi looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Fury has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Lampi is proving hard to escape from. Lampi is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Lampi is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. Lampi is looking for a triangle but Fury pushes his legs off easily.
Fury is looking to stand up but Lampi won't let him. We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Fury avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Lampi working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Fury doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Fury manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
A close round but Eemeli Lampi will probably get the nod. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. Lampi throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Fury rushes Lampi and presses him up against the cage. Lampi gets through Fury's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head. Fury throws a punch but it's blocked by Lampi. Lampi tries to pull guard but Fury won't allow it.

It looked like Fury was looking amped, ready to throw a big counter but didn't commit. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Lampi swats away the attempt to clinch by Fury.

It looks like John Fury has been cut. Fury moves in looking to clinch but Lampi pushes him off. And an attempted straight right on the counter from Lampi! But no joy. Fury slips a jab from Lampi. Fury fails in his attempt to clinch. Lampi misses the body punch and Fury counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground. Lampi is looking for a triangle but Fury pushes his legs off easily.
Lampi is working an open guard so Fury takes the opportunity to get back to his feet. Fury wants to clinch.

John Fury seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Fury moves out of range of the strikes. Fury takes one on the chin but seems OK.

Lampi and Fury are patiently standing in front of each other looking for an opening. Lampi throws a head kick. It's landed, knocking Fury into next week! Ooooh that was huge! Lampi knows it - he's on the cage flexing is biceps. That's a bit weird considering he won by kick but whatever.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:15 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Head Kick). Eemeli Lampi! Eemeli Lampi is the new light heavyweight champion! A very excited looking Eemeli Lampi made sure he remembered to thank all the fans both in the arena and on the internet. He said all the coolest people spend all day on MMA websites, which got a big reaction.
