PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Fidelity Castro (ranked 1759 p4p, 1247 weight class) and Jake Drummond (ranked 264 p4p, 188 weight class). The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Castro forces Drummond back against the cage and clinches.

Drummond told us before the fight that he's been working on his elbows. An under utilised technique these days - let's see if it can sway the outcome of the fight.

Drummond does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.

Castro dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Drummond. That did some damage!

Castro pushes Drummond off looking to stand but Drummond dives back in and keeps control.
Drummond looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Castro with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
We've been hearing good reports from Castro's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.
