Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Julian Rivera (ranked 2858 p4p, 2650 weight class) and Uestus Johnston (ranked 347 p4p, 322 weight class). Johnston comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Clint Eastwood- Gorillaz kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Julian Rivera is staring across the cage at his opponent, tweaking his nipples... Tweaking his own nipples that is.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Johnston tries to bum rush Rivera with a series of wild strikes but Rivera uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

Johnston throws a right and a left that Rivera avoids nicely.
We've been hearing reports that Rivera has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight.

Johnston might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable.

This is turning into a torrid day at the office for Rivera. He's trying desperately to land a takedown but he's failing miserably and getting slapped silly on the feet to compound his misery.

Rivera changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Johnston tries to avoid it but Rivera manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Johnston to the ground. Johnston escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Johnston is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
