Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Pawel Nastula (ranked 24835 p4p, 12991 weight class) and Toktogulovich Bakiyev (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Pawel Nastula has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Pawel Nastula!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 40 - 62 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Toktogulovich Bakiyev!
The judges for this bout are Arvi Lind, Marco Blurström and Matti Vanhoillinen.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bakiyev throws a hard body shot but it just misses.

Nastula has managed to clinch.
Bakiyev looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now.
Nastula has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Bakiyev avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.
Nastula has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Bakiyev after a bit of a struggle.

Nastula is trying to drag Bakiyev to the mat but Bakiyev just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.

Nastula tries to counter by moving into the clinch but Bakiyev manages to circle out of the way.

Nastula shoots in looking for a takedown but Bakiyev manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Nastula's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

Nastula moves into the clinch.
Nastula is working for takedown but Bakiyev is calmly controlling the position for now.

Nastula has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed Bakiyev clear over his head and slammed him to the mat!

Nastula has his hand under the chin of his opponent looking for the choke. He's nearly got it! This one could be all over! But no, Bakiyev has freed his hand and lives to survive another… well, another couple of seconds at least!

Bakiyev felt the need to train up his defensive grappling in the buildup to the fight. Presumably he was expecting to be in a difficult position like this, so let's see if he can get out of it.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Pawel Nastula.
