Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Better Dead (ranked 1166 p4p, 2349 weight class) and Punchy Cartwright (ranked 166 p4p, 281 weight class). Cartwright has chosen A Pound of Flesh as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 6 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Better Dead! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Punchy Cartwright! The judges for this bout are Steven Brown, Andrew Berry and James Atkins.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Cartwright moves out of range as Dead strikes. Cartwright rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Dead moves out of range and avoids them all easily. Cartwright tries to close the distance and clinch but Dead swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Dead is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Cartwright. Dead misses the body punch and Cartwright counters with a lovely straight right hand! Dead throws a body shot but no joy. It seemed like Cartwright was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it. Dead looking to land some kicks to the body here.
Dead throws the left hand but Cartwright avoids the punch easily. Dead throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Dead misses with a jab, cross combination.
It seemed like Cartwright was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it. Cartwright looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights. Cartwright fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Dead, pushing him back against the cage. Cartwright lands a body punch in the clinch. A right hook to the body lands for Cartwright.
Dead has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate. Cartwright escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Cartwright's corner calls for a 1-2. Cartwright obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range. Cartwright keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Dead. Cartwright feints a counter leg kick. Dead really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Cartwright closes the distance and clinches.
That's one minute gone in the round. Cartwright pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Cartwright pushes Dead up against the cage in a clinch. Cartwright lands a right hand that snaps the head of Dead backwards. Cartwright swings away with an uppercut that misses.
Cartwright tries a body shot but Dead blocks it.
Cartwright lands with a right to the head. Cartwright pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Dead scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction. Better Dead is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Dead misses with a body shot.
Cartwright throws a body punch but Dead moves out of range. Dead misses the shot to the body. Cartwright gets a clinch. Dead prevents a body shot from Cartwright. A right hook to the body lands for Cartwright.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Cartwright is stalling here. The referee will be looking to step in if he doesn't pick up the pace.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Dead is trying to force a seperation but Cartwright has the dominant position. Dead wants to break the clinch but can't.
Dead breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Cartwright tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Dead lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head. Cartwright clinches. Cartwright is stalling here.
The fighters are pressed against the cage, as the pace of the fight slows. A short left from Cartwright.

Dead misses with a jab to the body
and Cartwright counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Dead thinking. Cartwright gets cracked there but stands up to it.
Cartwright ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face. Cartwright slips a jab and a cross from Dead.
Cartwright gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here. Cartwright tries to work over Dead's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target. Cartwright lands with a good tight uppercut to the head. Cartwright lands on the inside with an uppercut. Cartwright lands with a left to the head. Cartwright is pushing Dead up against the cage, for a bit of lean and pray action. Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word. Cartwright lands a hook that snaps the head of Dead backwards. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Cartwright scores with a shoulder strike.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A quick uppercut on the inside from Cartwright. Cartwright lands a shoulder strike that jolts his opponent's head backwards. A short uppercut from Cartwright. A nice left hand lands by Cartwright.
Cartwright breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Cartwright has taken the fight to the clinch.
Cartwright taking a breather. Cartwright scores with a hook to the body. Cartwright is clearly stalling here... Pick up the pace son.
Cartwright swings wildly with an uppercut but Dead uses good head movement to avoid it. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Punchy Cartwright dominated that round. That's time! Dead's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. Dead misses the shot to the body. Nice straight punches there by Dead. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Dead. Dead jabbing away but nothing is landing. Cartwright slips under a jab. Dead misses with a looping right. Dead lands a big uppercut and Cartwright crumbles to the floor! The ref thinks about stopping the fight but Cartwright looks OK. Dead waves Cartwright back to his feet!
Cartwright is rocked!
It looks like Punchy Cartwright has been cut. Dead throws out a token jab with nothing on it. Cartwright is still on wobbly legs! Can Dead finish him? We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Cartwright walks straight into a right hand from Dead - that's dropped him! Dead jumps into mount and starts pounding away - can he finish?! More strikes go undefended and the referee has to dive in to save Cartwright from any more punishment! Cartwright complains about the stoppage but falls over as he tries to stand back up, so it was clearly a good stoppage.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:27 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Punches). Better Dead!
