Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Daron Acemoglu (ranked 1928 p4p, 1821 weight class) and Jake Damien (ranked 258 p4p, 247 weight class). Daron Acemoglu has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Acemoglu misses with a body shot.
Damien has his takedown stuffed

and Acemoglu counters with a shoot takedown. Damien fights it but they end up in guard.
Acemoglu tries to free his leg and advance position but Damien is retaining full guard.
Damien tries to land a sweep but no joy.

Damien had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Acemoglu defends it easily.

Acemoglu makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.
Damien wants to sweep here but Acemoglu controlling him for the moment.

Damien drops back looking for a leg! Acemoglu is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Acemoglu manages to kick Damien off! Damien jumps back into Acemoglu's guard.
Damien pushes down on Acemoglu's leg and manages to get into half guard.

Acemoglu is in trouble now - Damien has advanced to mount!

Damien looking for a guillotine from mount but Acemoglu is having none of it.

Damien jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Acemoglu manages to avoid the submission attempt.

Damien has knee on belly and moves into mount.
Acemoglu tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Acemoglu tries to hold on but Damien postures up.

Acemoglu throws a strike from the bottom that misses.

Damien looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Acemoglu has a hand on Damien's thigh, trying to get back to full guard. Damien takes advantage of the position though and mounts him!
Damien wants to control the pace but Acemoglu is squirming around nicely.

Damien is working for a guillotine from mount but Acemoglu frees his head quite easily.

Damien is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Acemoglu is surviving well by controlling Damien's body position as best he can.

Damien is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Acemoglu has managed to escape the submission attempt.
Damien avoids the attempt from Acemoglu to control.
Damien tries to control but Acemoglu wriggling away.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Acemoglu keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.

Damien looking to secure an arm triangle but Acemoglu defends it well.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

Acemoglu throws a body shot but no joy.
Damien shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Acemoglu as he jumps to the side.
Damien has a takedown stuffed.
Damien doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Acemoglu makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.
Daron Acemoglu has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jake Damien.
Damien shoots in and drives through. Acemoglu sprawls well.

Damien shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.

Damien drops back for a leg here. A bit of a high risk move... He's looking for a kneebar by the looks of things. Now both of them are looking for submissions. Damien seems to have locked his on tight now - Acemoglu screams in pain and taps out furiously! It certainly was a high risk move but it's paid off for Damien, as he picks up the win!
