Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Richard Ramirez (ranked 420 p4p, 681 weight class) and Shug Skinner (ranked 58 p4p, 97 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Ramirez might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Get Lucky. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 5 - 1, fighting out of London, Shug Skinner!
The judges for this bout are Phil Schofield, Chris Edwards and James Glass.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nice defenses there by Skinner.
Ramirez dips down and scores with a jab to the body.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Ramirez is looking for a kimura but Skinner is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Ramirez to get the leverage.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

I was talking to Ramirez's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight.

Skinner feints and then winds up with a huge right hand that connects perfectly and sends Ramirez sprawling to the canvas! Ramirez rolls over backwards and springs off the cage and manages to regain his footing - how acrobatic! Oh, he's still wobbly - can Skinner finish him?!

An out of breath Shug Skinner thanked his loyal fans in his post fight interview, giving them credit for his success over the course of his career.
In defeat, Richard Ramirez stepped up to the mic, saying 'I'll end you!'.
