PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Rav Kapur (ranked 242 p4p, 655 weight class) and Dwalin Giantslayer (ranked 42 p4p, 89 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 12 - 8 - 0, fighting out of London, Rav Kapur!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 9 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Dwalin Giantslayer!
The judges for this bout are James Ackerman, James Atkins and Colin Fotheringham.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kapur dives in for a single leg takedown but Giantslayer sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.

Giantslayer decides to pull guard.
Kapur sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Giantslayer's guard.
Giantslayer is looking to control Kapur's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Giantslayer avoid being mounted?

Kapur is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Giantslayer sees it coming and defends easily.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Giantslayer is doing well to avoid being mounted. He's controlling the position at the moment.

Kapur is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Giantslayer doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Kapur.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Giantslayer can't keep his opponent in guard - Kapur advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
Kapur will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Giantslayer is defending against the submission attempts here by Kapur.
The fighters are battling for position here. Giantslayer manages to regain full guard. Nice work.
Kapur stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Giantslayer swivels though and keeps the full guard.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Giantslayer manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Kapur manages to get himself to full guard.

Giantslayer has been taking part in the yoga sessions down at Ramirez Dojo Of Excellence. Presumably he's going to look for a slick submission... Or maybe he's looking to avoid one.
Giantslayer postures up and lands some nice ground and pound.
Kapur has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.

It looks like Rav Kapur has been cut.
Kapur can't keep his opponent in guard - Giantslayer advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.

The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Giantslayer lands a nice short elbow.
Giantslayer is looking to take a break and control but Kapur is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Giantslayer is thwarting Kapur's attempts to control the position.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Giantslayer thows a huge punch but Kapur dodges it nicely.
Giantslayer is nestled in close to Kapur, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

No luck with that takedown attempt from Kapur.
Giantslayer throws a lazy right hand but Kapur sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.

Giantslayer looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Kapur tries to roll over but Giantslayer keeps him under control.
Giantslayer working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.

Rav Kapur's cut is getting worse.

Giantslayer works his way into side control.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Giantslayer content to control the pace. The referee will try and keep them active though.
Kapur is in a tricky position but he's been working on his transitions down at London MMA Club, so we'll see if he gets out of it.
The strikes coming from Giantslayer are missing the target in this wave of attacks.

Kapur is looking for a sweep.

Rav Kapur's cut is bleeding quite badly. He's got to try and protect it.
Kapur wants to control but Giantslayer postures up.
Giantslayer misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.
Kapur really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Jeez, Rav Kapur's cut is really nasty now. The referee must be thinking about getting that checked.

The referee calls the doctor in to look at Rav Kapur's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:58 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Cut). Dwalin Giantslayer!
In his post fight interview, Dwalin Giantslayer started talking himself up. Luckily his charisma kept the crowd on side and gave him a good reception.
