Coming up we have a featherweight kickboxing rules bout between Yajson Rram (ranked 1066 p4p, 1767 weight class) and George Backman (ranked 118 p4p, 185 weight class). Rram kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Overhaul. I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that George Backman was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 15 - 16 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, George Backman!
The judges for this bout are Shirou Masuda, Taro Takaoka and Shigeki Fujiwara.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rram misses with a leg kick
and Backman counters with a body kick that stops Rram in his tracks momentarily.
Rram swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
A looping hook to the body misses from Rram. Backman does a little dance to reset his feet.
Backman looks like he wants to counter punch here.
Backman throws out a leg kick but Rram moves out of range and Backman only half commits.
Rram scores with a body shot.
Rram looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.

and Backman counters with a straight right hand.
Rram throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Backman.
Nice uppercut there from Rram.
Backman throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Rram fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Backman on the wrong end of a nice hook.
Rram rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Backman connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Backman throws a series of punches but Rram avoids them all with ease.
No joy there for Backman, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Rram catches Backman with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong!

and Backman counters with a series of strikes. Rram will be more careful next time no doubt.

Backman's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Rram connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Backman scrambles back to his feet.

Backman is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Backman uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Rram has time to react.
Rram throws a body kick that digs right into the meat.
Rram throws a right and a left that Backman avoids nicely.
Backman throws a right and a left that both miss.
Yajson Rram seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

and Backman counters with a three punch combo that has Rram backing up. Rram nods at Backman to acknowledge the strikes.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Rram wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.

Backman ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Rram is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot.
Rram takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.
Backman steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Rram.
Rram keeps Backman at a distance using the push kick.
Rram bobs and weaves and then throws a good body kick.
A punch combination from Rram misses.
Rram misses with a wild body shot.
Backman drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles.
Backman has used his reach advantage pretty well so far tonight.

Backman connects with the punch.
Rram fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Backman manages to avoid it.
Backman misses with a hook. Rram ducked under it nicely.
Backman scores with the left hand. Rram knows he should have avoided that one.
Backman lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range.

and Backman counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.

Rram looks to score with a jab to the body but Backman is just out of range.

Rram throws an ugly left hook that misses
and as Rram tries to reset, Backman cracks him with a perfect counter right hand that drops him to the mat! Rram is trying to get up but he's doing the chicken dance and face plants back to the floor - that's enough for the referee and he's called the bout! This one is all over!
