The judges for this bout are Darius Henderson, Donatello Bradman and Francis DeMontford.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Idowu throws a series of punches but Miranda moves out of range.
Idowu slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range.
Miranda takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming.
Idowu lands with a good body shot.
Idowu dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Miranda doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.
Idowu lands with a cross.
Idowu defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Miranda.
Idowu swung with a counter punch to the body but it didn't connect.
Idowu dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Idowu lands a left and a right that send Miranda crashing to the mat, dazed. Idowu thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!
Miranda is rocked!
Idowu lands a nice hook to Miranda's body. Miranda takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.
Miranda is still on wobbly legs! Can Idowu finish him?
Miranda looks winded!
Idowu lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Miranda at a distance.
Miranda gets tagged by a hook that puts him to sleep! Idowu points and yells something to his unconcious foe before strutting off. Miranda wakes up just in time to hear Idowu thank his coaches in the post fight interview.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:59 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Derrick Idowu!
During a confident post fight interview, Derrick Idowu thanked all his fans. He seemed very genuine when describing how motivated his fans keep him.
