Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Max Pain (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Derek Cook (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Pain is coming into this fight with a significant injury, which will no doubt have an effect on his cardio. Well, I have no idea who's going to take this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Max Pain! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Derek Cook! The judges for this bout are Robert Douchet, Ian Loll and Dillan Fox.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Cook stuffs the takedown. Pain is breathing heavily. Pain stuffs the takedown. Cook doesn't manage to clinch there - Pain circles away.
Cook shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Cook pushing down on Pain's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work. Cook trying to pass the guard but Pain defending well. Cook slips a nice elbow through Pain's hands, connecting with Pain's forehead. Cook tries to pass the half guard into mount. Pain knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt. Cook has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Cook tries to stand but his hand is stuck under Pain. Cook is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound. Cook is controlling the pace.
I looks like Cook might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.
That's one minute gone in the round. Cook is keen to just control but Pain is a slippery customer. Cook takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position. Cook is looking to take a break and control but Pain is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Despite being in the dominant position, Derek Cook just isn't active enough and the referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Cook is looking to clinch.
That's two minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Cook misses with a takedown attempt - Pain sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. Pain shoots and misses and Cook counters with a takedown into side control. Pain is trying to improve his position. Cook trying to control the position but Pain is working away. Cook stands up. Pain with a lazy takedown attempt and Cook decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Pain's guard. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Max Pain. That's going to take a lot out of him. Pain is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Pain has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Cook can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Pain had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Cook is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Pain Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Cook's back instead.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Pain working for a choke but Cook is defending well. Cook trying to control but not successfully. Pain is working hard for the rear naked choke here.
Pain will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Cook showing good submission defense here.

That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Pain is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Cook trying to control but Pain is working from the bottom. Pain working for a triangle but Cook defends it easily.
Pain looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Pain looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Derek Cook dominated that round. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!
Pain misses with a takedown and Cook counters with a two punch combo. Cook drives through with a takedown into guard. Pain has a closed guard, preventing Cook from standing up. Pain tries to land a sweep but no joy. Pain escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Cook gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Cook sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment. Pain is desperately trying to improve his position but Cook has a good base and remains in mount.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Pain is writhing around trying to get back to his feet. Derek Cook has got the better of the ground game so far. Pain wants to improve position but instead he's given up his back. Pain breaks Cook's hooks off and manages to turn into his guard.
Pain is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Cook closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard. Pain actively working from the bottom here. Cook slows the pace down in half guard. Pain tries to get to full guard but Cook has control of the leg.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Pain looking to work for a kimura from the bottom. Pain looking to work for a kimura from the bottom. Pain is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Pain is staying active underneath Cook, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Horrible takedown by Pain or perhaps it was just good defense by Cook which made him look bad.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Cook with a lazy takedown attempt and Pain counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground. Cook pulls Pain in close to his closed guard and prevents Pain from doing any damage or advancing position. Pain pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Cook is keeping the position for now. Pain is working hard here to advance position. Pain passes Cook's right leg, so he's now in half guard. Cook is looking for a sweep. Pain is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Pain is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Cook wants to improve his position but Pain is controlling well.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close second round but I would say that Max Pain will probably get the nod. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!

Cook with a poor takedown and Pain counters with a nice double leg into side control. Cook won't be happy with that. This has been an exciting period of action! Cook wants to control but Pain postures up. Pain prevents Cook from escaping the position. Cook manages to get back to half guard. Cook trying to control from the bottom.
Pain is looking to take a break and control but Cook is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Pain is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Cook is just riding it out for now. Pain eventually gives up the hold. Pain wants to lay and pray for a moment but Cook keeps working. Both fighters are breathing heavily.
That's one minute gone in the round. Pain moves nicely into side control. Pain trying to control the action but Cook is working from the bottom. Pain working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it. Cook is trying to improve his position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Cook prevents Pain from moving into mount. Cook gets back to half guard. Pain moves into full mount! Cook won't be happy about that! Cook is in all sorts of trouble here.
Pain avoids the attempt from Cook to control. Pain jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Cook is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Cook and Pain has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Cook is positioning himself to get back to half guard. Pain tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though. Cook tries to contro but end up mounted... ooooh, that's bad. Pain is going olschool here, as he tries to force Cook to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Cook shrugs it off. Pain blocks Cook's feeble attempts to strike from the bottom.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Cook tries to hold on but Pain postures up. Pain looking to secure an arm triangle but Cook defends it well. Pain is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But Cook has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from Cook! Pain is active off his back here, looking for submissions.

And that's the end of the fight! I would just about give that final round to Derek Cook. Well Cook has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
