Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Jans Schmidt (ranked 968 p4p, 2210 weight class) and Ishmael Egyptian (ranked 113 p4p, 231 weight class). Both fighters really staring each other down here, as Ishmael Egyptian enters the cage!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the featherweight championship of the world! Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 6 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Jans Schmidt! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Ishmael Egyptian! The judges for this bout are Stewart Dunkirk, George Francis and Wesley Smith.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Schmidt closes the distance but Egyptian moves to the side and Egyptian counters with a straight punch to the midsection. Schmidt drops his hands momentarily and Egyptian takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head. Schmidt rushes Egyptian and presses him up against the cage. Schmidt tries to throw a body punch but Egyptian avoids it by throwing Schmidt back against the cage. Schmidt swings away with an uppercut that misses.

Egyptian working some nice short punches in the clinch. Egyptian pressing his opponent against the cage. A head punch blocked on the inside by Egyptian. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Egyptian pressing his opponent against the cage. Egyptian scores with an uppercut up the middle. Still in the clinch, Egyptian scores with a nice short uppercut. The two fighters are working to gain dominance in the clinch. Egyptian lands a right hand that snaps the head of Schmidt backwards.
That's one minute gone in the round. With the fighters clinched against the cage, Egyptian creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut. Egyptian is trying to pull guard but Schmidt has him pressed against the cage. Schmidt misses with some punches.
Egyptian has Schmidt pushed against the cage. Schmidt is trying to slow down the pace in the clinch, to catch his breath. Egyptian blocking some punches.
A short right hand to the side of the head by Egyptian. Egyptian pulls guard. Schmidt trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Schmidt accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Schmidt throwing strikes but missing. Schmidt stands up over his opponent, looking to dive in with a big punch. Here he comes, superman style! Oh, the punch misses and Egyptian has got him in a triangle choke for good measure! Oh no! Schmidt manages to get his head free but now Egyptian has transitioned to an armbar! Schmidt grimaces and is forced to tap! Beautiful Jiu Jitsu from Egyptian! I'd be surprised if that didn't end up as submission of the night!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:59 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Ishmael Egyptian! Ishmael Egyptian is the new featherweight champion! A relieved looking Ishmael Egyptian thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
