PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight kickboxing rules bout between Mariusz Dominator (ranked 3245 p4p, 3145 weight class) and Cecil Lightning (ranked 377 p4p, 366 weight class). Cecil Lightning will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 11 - 5 - 1, fighting out of London, Mariusz Dominator!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 18 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Cecil Lightning!
The judges for this bout are Steve Erwin, Francis DeMontford and Darius Henderson.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lightning misses the jab.
Dominator has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.
Cecil Lightning seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Lightning connects with a crisp jab.
Lightning tries a head kick but it misses.
A jab from Dominator misses.
Lightning throws a sloppy head kick and Dominator moves out of range easily.
Dominator is looking to counter punch.
Dominator blocks the body kick.
Dominator misses with a straight right.
Lightning ducks under a wild hook from Dominator.
Lightning wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.
A punch lands to the side of Lightning 's head but he takes it in his stride.
Dominator throws the left hand but Lightning avoids the punch easily.
Dominator lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head.
Lightning ducks under a wild hook from Dominator.
Lightning steps in looking to counter with the mid kick but it doesn't connect.
Lightning fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Dominator on the side of the head.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Dominator tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Lightning was well out of range. Poor timing from Dominator.
Lightning is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot.
Dominator really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Dominator throws out a loose jab but Lightning uses good head movement to avoid it.
Lightning comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Lightning just misses with a punch to the body.
A chopping leg kick lands by Lightning.
Lightning lands with a head kick! That's gotta hurt.
Dominator misses with an uppercut.
Dominator has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Lightning finds it's way round the side to connect with Dominator's head.
That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Dominator crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Lightning - the referee stops the clock and Dominator gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Lightning. Dominator manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes.
Lightning's coach down at Thib's Sweat Shoppe was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Lightning's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight.
Lightning throws a head kick but Dominator moves out of range.
Lightning lands a leg kick that knocks Dominator off balance momentarily.
Dominator misses with a looping right.
Lightning swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Dominator.
Lightning throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
A telegraphed right hand from Dominator misses the target.
It seemed like Lightning was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it.
Lightning moves away from the strike by Dominator.
A jab from Lightning does it's job there.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Dominator walks forward, straight into a front kick from Lightning.
Lightning lands a slapping body shot.
Lightning throws a quick head kick that skims the top of Dominator's head.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Lightning scores with a push kick.
Dominator is breathing heavily.
Lightning changes levels and scores with a jab to the body.
Dominator steps to his left, right into the path of a big body kick from Lightning. That one must have hurt.
Lightning lands a nice looking kick to the body. Dominator takes a step back to recover.
Lightning chopping away at his opponent's legs.
Lightning connects with an inside leg kick.
Dominator walks forward, straight into a front kick from Lightning.
Lightning lands with a thumping leg kick.
Lightning scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Dominator doesn't seem bothered though.
Lightning wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.

Lightning throws out a head kick that Dominator doesn't see coming - it connects and sends Dominator crashing to the mat face first! He's bounced up to his knees and is scrambling to get back to his feet and beat the count. He's up on 5 but still looks a bit groggy; will the referee allow it to continue??? He's taking a good look into Dominator's eyes and has decided to let it go on!

Dominator is rocked!

It looks like Mariusz Dominator has been cut.
Lightning circles away before darting back in with a big straight right hand. It connects beautifully and sends Dominator tumbling to the canvas! He's out cold! Lightning wins by KO!
