Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Liam Mcgregor (ranked 3602 p4p, 4673 weight class) and Erick Beal (ranked 430 p4p, 492 weight class). Both fighters will be looking to make this an exciting fight for the fans, I'm sure!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Liam Mcgregor! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Erick Beal! The judges for this bout are Chris Saunders, Colin Fray and Ryoma Takatsuka.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Mcgregor fails with a takedown attempt. Beal tries to clinch and Mcgregor connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle. Beal fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Mcgregor, pushing him back against the cage. Mcgregor manages to break the clinch.
Mcgregor misses with a takedown and Beal connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle. The fight stays on the outside here - Beal looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Mcgregor throws a body kick that misses. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Beal fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. Beal tries a low kick but Mcgregor avoids it. Beal takes the fight into the clinch. Mcgregor tries to break the clinch but Beal is controlling the position.
That's one minute gone in the round. The pace really dropping off here, momentarily. The referee calls for Mcgregor to work.
Beal misses with a shot to the kidneys.
Mcgregor has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Beal is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Liam Mcgregor. That's going to take a lot out of him. The pace really dropping off here, momentarily. Beal holding his opponent close, against the cage.

That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Beal tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Mcgregor tries for a takedown but Beal manages to get underhooks.
Beal jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Mcgregor walks away with a smile on his face. Beal gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head. Mcgregor has managed to clinch.

Mcgregor tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Beal smiles and moves away.
Beal tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Mcgregor manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat. Mcgregor displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Beal. Mcgregor appears to be looking for a big counter. Beal stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Beal wants it to stay on the feet. Beal wants to counter the offense by Mcgregor and move into the clinch position. Mcgregor tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Beal paws at him with a jab and circles away. Beal looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Mcgregor throws a head kick that misses. Beal follows through with a counter body kick but it doesn't land. Mcgregor throws a right and a left that Beal avoids nicely. Mcgregor gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Beal counters by moving into the clinch. Mcgregor tries to pull guard but Beal forces him back to his feet, against the cage. Beal successfully pulls guard.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Beal kicks Mcgregor off and gets to his feet. Mcgregor darts in and out, connecting with a jab. Mcgregor shoots in but Beal avoids the takedown attempt easily. Beal throws a counter combo. Beal throws a right high kick that is partially blocked by Mcgregor. Beal tries to clinch up. This has been an exciting period of action! The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Mcgregor drives through with a takedown into Beal's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position. The fighters are working up against the cage. Beal manages to wriggle his way back to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched against the cage. Mcgregor drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Beal darts in and clinches Mcgregor up against the cage. Beal tries to pull guard but Mcgregor holds him up against the cage and eventually Beal drops back down to his feet.
Beal tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked. The referee calls for Mcgregor to work.
Mcgregor escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. A telegraphed takedown attempt from Mcgregor is defended easily by Beal. Beal stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Beal wants it to stay on the feet.
That's one minute gone in the round. Mcgregor shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard. Beal slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work. Beal tries to land a sweep but no joy. There's a bit of a scramble here and now Beal is on top in guard.

Mcgregor wants to improve his position but can't escape this time. Beal controlling the action here. Mcgregor is trying to control but can't.

Beal is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Mcgregor sees it coming and defends easily. Beal is looking to advance position but Mcgregor won't allow it.
The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. Mcgregor shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Beal defends it nicely. Beal is loading up here, looking for a big counter of his own. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Liam Mcgregor. That's going to take a lot out of him.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Beal throws a right and a left that Mcgregor avoids nicely. Mcgregor feinted with a counter takedown. Mcgregor misses with a takedown and Beal holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch. Mcgregor tries a knee to the head but Beal blocks it.

Beal is trying to pull guard but Mcgregor has him pressed against the cage. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Erick Beal showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round! Mcgregor keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. A swing and a miss from Beal. Beal shoots in looking for a takedown. Mcgregor tries to sprawl out of it but Beal keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Mcgregor manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Mcgregor misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Mcgregor will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. Beal fails with a takedown attempt. Liam Mcgregor has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Erick Beal. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Mcgregor throws a half hearted mid kick. Mcgregor connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Beal momentarily.

Mcgregor closes the distance and pushes Beal back into the cage. Beal has been the more effective fighter overall so far. Mcgregor is pressed up against the cage. Beal has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Mcgregor down to the mat. Mcgregor avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance. Beal tries to clinch up but Mcgregor circles away and keeps his distance. Beal shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Mcgregor pinned against the cage. Mcgregor gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. Beal takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Mcgregor fails with the takedown. Mcgregor scores with a jab to the body. Beal gets tackled into the cage by Mcgregor. Mcgregor maintains the clinch. Mcgregor wants a takedown.

Beal tries for a takedown but Mcgregor circles away easily and Mcgregor counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt. Beal shoots in for a double leg but Mcgregor sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. Mcgregor fails miserably with a takedown attempt. Mcgregor tries to keep at a distance but Beal has taken the fight into the clinch. Beal swings away with an uppercut that misses.
