Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Adam Pereira (ranked 6083 p4p, 3785 weight class) and Brady McMullen (ranked 607 p4p, 446 weight class). I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Adam Pereira!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Brady McMullen!
The judges for this bout are David Schapiro, Joseph Jones and Reed Andrews.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
McMullen lands with a nice body punch.
McMullen cracks Pereira with an open hand slap.

Pereira closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
McMullen tries to roll over but Pereira keeps him under control.

Pereira is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and McMullen defends it well.

Pereira is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
McMullen is looking to control Pereira's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can McMullen avoid being mounted?

Pereira seems to be looking for submissions.

Pereira is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.

Pereira is trying to work for a kimura but McMullen is defending well.
McMullen looks like he's trying to stand up.
McMullen really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Pereira. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Pereira is looking for a kimura but McMullen is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Pereira to get the leverage.

Pereira is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! McMullen is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! McMullen has escaped and now he's on top!

Pereira is breathing heavily.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
McMullen throws a big elbow that misses.
McMullen loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.

Pereira had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. McMullen defends it easily.

McMullen throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Pereira works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
McMullen is in close to Pereira's body, working some short punches and elbows.
McMullen postures up in Pereira's guard and throws a big left but Pereira blocks it.
McMullen must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

McMullen looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
McMullen trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.

McMullen throws a big right hand that misses.
McMullen is looking to work some ground and pound but Pereira has wrist control.
McMullen with a flurry of punches that miss.
McMullen throwing strikes but missing.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Pereira is on top in guard.

Pereira is fighting to break McMullen's control of his arms but McMullen is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.
McMullen wants to stand up but Pereira is controlling him.

Pereira drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but McMullen manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Pereira has McMullen in his guard.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Pereira is on top in guard.

McMullen trying to control the position here.

Pereira drops back looking for a leg! McMullen is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and McMullen manages to kick Pereira off! Pereira jumps back into McMullen's guard.
McMullen seems keen to control Pereira's posture.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Adam Pereira dominated that round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

Pereira tries to move into range but McMullen moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand.
Pereira shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as McMullen sprawls well. McMullen wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Pereira gets slowly back to his feet.
Pereira misses with a takedown attempt - McMullen sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
McMullen lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.

It looks like Adam Pereira has been cut.
McMullen throws a good cross that connects.
Pereira seems to be squinting his left eye. Perhaps he got a poke in that previous exchange. McMullen shows no mercy and swarms him with a barage of strikes! Pereira is backing up but McMullen catches him with a final right hook that drops him! Pereira covers up and the referee steps in to end the fight! McMullen Jumps to his feet and flashes his guns to the crowd. Oh yeah, baby! How'd you like them apples?!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:37 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Brady McMullen!
Our winner, Brady McMullen, made sure he spent some time buttering up the crowd during his post fight interview, which will no doubt bring him a few more fans.
