Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Bogdan Valeryevich (ranked 5179 p4p, 4401 weight class) and Hamadi Hajjar (ranked 552 p4p, 498 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Valeryevich might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to oy, to ne vecher. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Bogdan Valeryevich! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Hamadi Hajjar! The judges for this bout are Columbo Gatti, Jorge Garcia and Joseph Jones.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Valeryevich misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Hajjar uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Valeryevich. Hajjar doesn't succeed with the takedown and Valeryevich counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground. Hajjar keeping moving, preventing Valeryevich from controlling successfully. Hajjar controls Valeryevich momentarily but Valeryevich frees himself. Valeryevich has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. Valeryevich looking to sit in guard and control but Hajjar gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Valeryevich has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Valeryevich throws a couple of weedy looking strikes off his back.
That's one minute gone in the round. Hajjar trying to control the position from guard on top but Valeryevich is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Valeryevich wants to sweep here but Hajjar controlling him for the moment. Valeryevich controlling Hajjar's posture. Valeryevich had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Hajjar defends it easily. Valeryevich might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Hajjar postures up in Valeryevich's guard and throws a big left but Valeryevich blocks it.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Hajjar stopping the sweep attempt from Valeryevich. Hajjar wants to control from the top but Valeryevich keeps moving. Valeryevich tries to land a sweep but no joy. The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet. Hajjar trying to control but Valeryevich is working from the bottom.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Valeryevich circles away from the clinch attempt.
It looked like Valeryevich wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit. Hajjar fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. Hajjar looks winded! Hajjar tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Valeryevich throwing a counter right hand but Hajjar manages to avoid it.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Jab from Valeryevich. A slow jab from Valeryevich misses its intended target. Valeryevich scores with a jab to the jaw. Hajjar fails in his attempt to clinch. Valeryevich throws a series of punches but Hajjar avoids them all with ease. Hajjar wants to counter the offense by Valeryevich and move into the clinch position. Hajjar falls off balance throwing a combination
and Valeryevich counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Hajjar thinking. Hajjar closes the distance and clinches. Valeryevich tries a body shot but Hajjar blocks it.
Valeryevich is clearly stalling here... Pick up the pace son.
Hajjar breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A telegraphed right hand from Valeryevich misses the target. Hajjar scores with a body shot.
Valeryevich misses with a wild body shot. Hajjar throws a counter combo. Valeryevich throws a shot from downtown. Hajjar moves away and avoids it. Valeryevich misses the shot to the body. Decent striking displayed by Valeryevich there. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Hajjar gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there. Valeryevich swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target. Valeryevich throws a series of strikes that have Hajjar backpedaling.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Hajjar staying out of range there. Hajjar shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Valeryevich as he avoids it easily. Bogdan Valeryevich has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Hamadi Hajjar. Hajjar takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Bogdan Valeryevich dominated that round. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare each other down, ready to get back to the action. Valeryevich listening to his corner there, landing a nice uppercut. Hajjar with a poor takedown enabling Valeryevich to counter with a crisp jab. Valeryevich misses with a body shot
and Hajjar counters with a one-two to the body. Hajjar walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head. Valeryevich lands a slapping body shot.

Valeryevich throws a jab when Hajjar was well out of range. Valeryevich dips down and scores with a jab to the body. Valeryevich throws a body punch but Hajjar moves out of range. Valeryevich is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Hajjar. Valeryevich lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Valeryevich gets a takedown into half guard. Hajjar is breathing heavily. Hajjar on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound.
That's one minute gone in the round. Hajjar is refusing to be controlled, as Valeryevich sits in half guard. Valeryevich is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound. Valeryevich slips a nice elbow through Hajjar's hands, connecting with Hajjar's forehead. Valeryevich is taking a breather. Hajjar says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something. Hajjar moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard. Hammerfist, elbow! yells Valeryevich's corner. There ya go! There ya go!
That's two minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Valeryevich lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard. Valeryevich lands a couple of elbows. Valeryevich is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Hajjar can do to turn this around? Hajjar keeping moving, preventing Valeryevich from controlling successfully. Valeryevich showing good wrestling skills to control the position. Hajjar working a defensive guard here.
Valeryevich is working Hajjar over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes. Valeryevich knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Hajjar on the ground. Valeryevich thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. Hajjar is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Valeryevich working some strikes from top position. Valeryevich wants to control from the top but Hajjar keeps moving. Valeryevich working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Hajjar's head. Valeryevich is stalling in the full guard. Valeryevich is in close to Hajjar's body, working some short punches and elbows. Valeryevich trying to control but Hajjar is working from the bottom. Valeryevich makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Valeryevich wants to pass the guard but Hajjar is keeping the position. Valeryevich stands up over Hajjar, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head. Valeryevich scoring with some ground and pound. Valeryevich connects with a couple of short punches. Hajjar keeping moving, preventing Valeryevich from controlling successfully. Valeryevich working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Hajjar's head. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Hajjar is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Valeryevich is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Bogdan Valeryevich dominated that second round. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! And we move into the final round! Valeryevich is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Hajjar. Hajjar has a takedown stuffed. Valeryevich stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush. Valeryevich uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook. Hajjar closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so.
Hajjar is rocked! Hajjar darts in trying to clinch and Valeryevich counters with a crisp right that sends Hajjar to the canvas! Valeryevich follows up with punches from the mount and this one is all over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:40 of round 3, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Bogdan Valeryevich! After winning the bout, Bogdan Valeryevich thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
