Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Mew Choo (ranked 1711 p4p, 1158 weight class) and DeShawn West (ranked 44 p4p, 26 weight class). DeShawn West told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Choo lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.

Choo has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but West can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
West wants to stand but Choo has a closed guard, so he can't escape.

Choo is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. West is aware though and is defending well.
The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end.
West wants to get up but he can't break Choo's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
