The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mathieu lands a kick to the ribs of his opponent. Nice work there - in and out in a flash.
The fighters circle momentarily. Mathieu darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.

It looks like Rodney Farva has been cut.

Nice sprawl there from Mathieu as Farva shoots in.
Farva steps to his left, right into the path of a big body kick from Mathieu. That one must have hurt.

Mathieu lands a big head kick that sends Farva tumbling to the mat! Mathieu takes a step backwards and waves Farva back to his feet - he wants the finish!
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Mathieu fires a straight punch through the middle that cracks Farva square on the jaw! Damn, Farva is out cold on his feet and topples face first to the canvas! Wow, I haven't seen a knockout that brutal in a long time!

Ernesto Mathieu spent the whole post fight interview bigging himself up. It didn't go down that well with the fans after a while as they thought it was a bit arrogant.
