Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Drizzt Do Urden (ranked 73 p4p, 641 weight class) and Derrick Barnes (ranked 12 p4p, 104 weight class). Do Urden comes to the cage accompanied by Lost in the Underdark. The crowd seem to be enjoying Barnes 's choice of entrance music: We Want The Funk. The key to victory for Drizzt Do Urden has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the welterweight championship of the world! Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 18 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Drizzt Do Urden! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 13 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Derrick Barnes ! The judges for this bout are Francis DeMontford, Ben Hemmingworth and Eliza Hachem.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Do Urden checks a low kick from Barnes . A quick step to the side and Do Urden tries to counter with a shot to the body but it doesn't connect. We've been told by Do Urden's head coaches at Desert Fitness & Training (14 Elite Coaches) that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight. Donk. Barnes catches Do Urden right on the button with a cross. Nice defenses there by Do Urden. Do Urden misses with an uppercut. Barnes saw that one coming. Do Urden misses with a straight right. Do Urden misses with a wild body shot. Barnes lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent. Nice defenses there by Do Urden. We've been informed that Barnes has been sparring a lot of Muay Thai in the buildup to this fight so let's see if that has an impact on the result. Barnes throws a poor cross that misses
and Do Urden cracks him with a counter punch right on the button. Do Urden keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Barnes . A looping hook to the body misses from Barnes . Do Urden does a little dance to reset his feet. Barnes ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Do Urden moves away. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Barnes ducks under a wild hook from Do Urden. Barnes takes a shot right to the bread basket. Barnes has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Do Urden lands the left hand. Barnes attempts a low kick but it misses it's target. Barnes throws a right and a left that Do Urden avoids nicely.

Barnes throws out a token jab with nothing on it. Do Urden waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Barnes . Do Urden thows a left - swing and a miss! Do Urden uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Barnes . Do Urden throws a looping overhand right but Barnes ducks down to avoid it. Barnes throws a body punch but Do Urden moves out of range. Do Urden avoids a punch combination nicely.
Drizzt Do Urden is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Do Urden feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Barnes s jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist! Donk. Do Urden catches Barnes right on the button with a cross. Do Urden's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Barnes connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Do Urden scrambles back to his feet. Do Urden lands a right hook to the body.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Barnes throws a body punch but Do Urden moves out of range. Do Urden gets cracked there but stands up to it.
Do Urden swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target. And Barnes tries to counter it with a takedown but Do Urden pushes his down on his head and steps out. Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Barnes , as that shot connected.
Do Urden lands a jab. Barnes tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Do Urden paws at him with a jab and circles away. Barnes fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Barnes misses with a left hand and Do Urden counters with a stiff right hand. Barnes throws a big shot that misses. Do Urden throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land. Barnes keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Do Urden. Do Urden jabbing away but nothing is landing. Barnes misses with a straight right. Barnes thows a left - swing and a miss! Do Urden bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes. Barnes throws a hook to the side of Do Urden's head but Do Urden sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully. It looked like Do Urden wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit. The fighters circling - Do Urden throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Do Urden misses the jab. Barnes tries a counter takedown but it's more of a dummy move, and he uses it to push himself away. Barnes jabs at Do Urden's body. Barnes misses with a body shot.
Barnes tests Do Urden's chin there with a solid looking shot. Do Urden misses with a looping left. Sloppy strikes from Do Urden. Those never looked like landing. Barnes changes levels for a counter takedown but doesn't follow through with his attempt. Do Urden throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land. Barnes drops down looking to force a counter takedown but Do Urden defends it well. Barnes thuds his right hand into Do Urden's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters. The fighters circling - Do Urden throws out the jab but it was never going to land. Nice defenses there by Barnes . Do Urden fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.

That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Barnes is trying to pull guard but Do Urden has him pressed against the cage. Do Urden breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Barnes changes levels and scores with a jab to the body. Do Urden throws a hook but Barnes blocks it. Do Urden fakes a head shot and lands one to the body. Barnes uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Do Urden. Do Urden displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Barnes throws out the jab. Do Urden checks a low kick from Barnes . Barnes looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. Do Urden throws a hook to the side of Barnes 's head but Barnes sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully. Barnes gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Do Urden. Do Urden takes one on the chin but keeps coming.
The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end. Barnes cracks Do Urden with a good jab. Do Urden is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Barnes . Barnes throws a combination. Do Urden tries to block but a couple of punches get through. Do Urden clobbers Barnes with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Drizzt Do Urden will probably get the nod. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! Barnes throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Do Urden counters with a stiff right hand. Do Urden misses with a wild body shot. Barnes misses with a body shot.
Do Urden buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
Barnes walks into a left hand.
Barnes is rocked! Barnes takes a body punch but keeps moving. Barnes is still on wobbly legs! Can Do Urden finish him? Derrick Barnes is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Do Urden lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Barnes at a distance.
Barnes tries to check a leg kick but that clearly hurt him. Barnes just misses with a punch to the body.
Barnes seems to have recovered his senses. Do Urden scores with a straight right hand, right through his opponent's guard. Do Urden buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
Drizzt Do Urden is winning the standup battle so far. Do Urden fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Barnes manages to avoid it. A punch combination from Barnes misses. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Barnes seems to be squinting his left eye. Perhaps he got a poke in that previous exchange. Do Urden shows no mercy and swarms him with a barage of strikes! Barnes is backing up but Do Urden catches him with a final right hook that drops him! Barnes covers up and the referee steps in to end the fight! Do Urden Jumps to his feet and flashes his guns to the crowd. Oh yeah, baby! How'd you like them apples?!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:46 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Drizzt Do Urden! Drizzt Do Urden retains his welterweight title! Drizzt Do Urden decided to thank the fans in attendance for making a great atmosphere. It seemed to go down pretty well.
