Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Lion Heart (ranked 4508 p4p, 4570 weight class) and Elliot Benson (ranked 451 p4p, 454 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Lion Heart! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Elliot Benson! The judges for this bout are James Glass, Colin Fotheringham and Steven Brown.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Heart misses with a takedown attempt and Benson counters with a stiff right hand. Heart throws a lazy head kick and Benson counters with a series of strikes. Heart will be more careful next time no doubt. Heart misses with a hook

It looks like Lion Heart has been cut. Heart with a poor takedown enabling Benson to counter with a crisp jab. Heart sees a low kick coming and goes to check it, but it's actually a body kick and it thuds into his unprotected ribs. Benson closes the distance and lands a one-two.
Heart is rocked! This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Heart throws a sloppy head kick and Benson counters with a lovely straight right hand! Oh Heart is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!! Benson lands with a good body shot. Heart seems to have got his legs back now. Benson jabs. That one connects to the head of his opponent.
Benson is using his reach advantage to land shots from outside his opponent's range. A momentary lapse in concentration from Benson enables Heart to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Benson manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat. Benson looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
That's one minute gone in the round. Benson has his foot on Heart's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Heart works his way back into a safe position though. Benson looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.

Heart is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound. Heart passes into half guard. Heart seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense. Heart working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that. Heart is nestled in close to Benson, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure. Heart seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense. Benson actively working from the bottom here.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Heart wants to pass the guard but Benson is defending well. Heart tries to stand but his arm is trapped. Heart keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action. Heart really is built like a bowling ball. I wonder if he'd roll if you pushed him down a hill... Benson is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Heart pulls his head out easily. Heart trying to control the pace. Heart lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt. Heart looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Still in half guard, Heart seems content to control. Heart is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Heart scores with a couple of good hammerfists. The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Heart lands a nice short elbow. The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Heart connects with a nice short shot to Benson's temple. Heart slips a nice elbow through Benson's hands, connecting with Benson's forehead. Benson is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Heart pulls his head out easily. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Heart stalling. Benson is looking to get back to full guard here but Heart has managed to pass to side control instead. Heart wants to stand but Benson is controlling his arm. Heart working away diligently from side control. Landing strikes effectively there - that will score him some points on the judges scorecards.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
A close round but Elliot Benson will probably get the nod. The cut man is working on Lion Heart's cut. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.
Heart moves into the clinch. Benson is trying to break the clinch but Heart has him pressed against the cage. Heart using the Thai plumb to throw knees but Benson has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.
Benson has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate. Heart keeps control of Benson as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks. Heart has Benson pressed against the cage, preventing Benson from circling away and getting back to striking at range. Heart pulls guard effortlessly. Benson is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Heart is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Heart has escaped and now he's on top! Heart postures up and lands a big shot to Benson's brow.
Benson is rocked! Heart is working Benson over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes. Benson is still in real trouble! Can Heart finish him? Heart gets to his feet and stands over Benson, holding his ankles. He dives in with a big left hand that connects! Benson felt that one! Heart unloads more punches and elbows and this one is over! The ref has dived in to save Benson from any more punishment!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:55 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Lion Heart!
