Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Sonny Giovanni (ranked 5922 p4p, 2296 weight class) and Moe Lester (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have solid standup skills and neither is particularly fantastic on the ground, so let's hope for a nice standup war!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 22 - 18 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Moe Lester!
The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, Frank Antenori and Don Winkell.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lester has closed the distance and engaged Giovanni in a clinch.
Giovanni tries a body shot but Lester blocks it.
Lester has a couple of punches blocked by Giovanni.
Giovanni misses with a shot to the kidneys.
Giovanni fails to land with a short punch on the inside.
Lester misses with a short punch on the inside.
Lester digs a right hand into Giovanni's ribs. Those have got to be taking their toll on Giovanni's gas tank.

Giovanni struggles to land a body shot inside as Lester controls his hands.
Giovanni swings wildly with an uppercut but Lester uses good head movement to avoid it.

Lester misses with a short punch on the inside.
A real battle for position is taking place between these two warriors.
Giovanni tries to throw a body punch but Lester avoids it by throwing Giovanni back against the cage.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Lester tries to stall but Giovanni uses the opportunity to gain a better position.

Giovanni lands a hook to the body. It's hard to tell if that hurt Lester or not.
Giovanni lands a right hand that snaps the head of Lester backwards.
Lester blocks a couple of punches on the inside.
Giovanni makes some space for himself and lands an uppercut.
Lester is leaning against Giovanni and scores with a nice uppercut to the body.

Giovanni lands a left hand that snaps the head of Lester backwards.

Giovanni lands a shoulder strike that jolts his opponent's head backwards.
Nice body punch from Giovanni - that landed with a thud.
Lester struggles to land a body shot inside as Giovanni controls his hands.
Both fighters working to control the clinch.
Lester misses with a punch on the inside.
Giovanni manages to break the clinch.
Giovanni lands a right hook to the body.
We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Lester has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Giovanni feints a jab promting Lester to slip. Giovanni then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Lester slips again and ducks right into an uppercut.
It looks like Moe Lester has been cut.
Lester swings for the body but Giovanni moves out of range.
And Giovanni counters with a quick kick to the body but Lester blocks it.
Giovanni has been working on his boxing with his coaches at Convicted Top Team in the buildup to the fight.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
Lester swings widly with a right hand
and Giovanni counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Lester misses the body punch
and Lester takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Good leg kick by Giovanni.
Nice uppercut there from Lester.
Lester throws an ugly left hook that misses
and Giovanni connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Giovanni lands a nice looking body shot.
Giovanni lands with a thumping leg kick.
Lester's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Giovanni connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Lester scrambles back to his feet.
Lester is rocked!
That has opened up Moe Lester's cut even more.
Giovanni keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.
Lester is still on wobbly legs! Can Giovanni finish him?
Lester misses the body punch
and Giovanni rattles Lester with a well-timed uppercut counter. - Lester tries to back away and recover but his hands are down low and he gets tagged again, sending him stumbling down to the canvas. Giovanni dives in after him and quickly finishes the job with a trio of brutal punches, leaving Lester stiff and motionless on the mat!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:50 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Strikes). Sonny Giovanni!
After the fight, Sonny Giovanni was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
