PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Test Six (ranked 4805 p4p, 4803 weight class) and John Fisher (ranked 106 p4p, 108 weight class). I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that John Fisher was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 1 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Test Six!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 1, fighting out of New York, John Fisher!
The judges for this bout are Cecil Peabody, Frank Dennis and Tiny Johnson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Six shoots in but no luck this time.

Six looking for a takedown here - he's got it.
Six wants to get up but he can't break Fisher's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
Fisher is trying to keep Six in close.
Fisher wants to stand but Six is controlling the position.
Six wants to control from the top but Fisher keeps moving.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Fisher being controlled here, momentarily.

Six drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Six jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Fisher looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.
Six with a flurry of punches that miss.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.

Fisher shoots in and gets a takedown into Six's guard.

Six is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Six is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Six keeping moving, preventing Fisher from controlling successfully.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Fisher stays in close to Six's body and controls the position.
Six looks to be in better condition than last time we saw him fight. Obviously he's been working hard on his cardio.
Six working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Fisher.
Six is pulling down on Fisher's head. It's preventing any offense from Fisher, at least for the moment.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Six working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Fisher doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Fisher manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
Fisher scores with a punch to the head.

And that's the end of the fight!
I would just about give that final round to John Fisher.
I think Fisher has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
