Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 4 - 0, fighting out of New York, Felix Speer!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Michael Cudlitz!
The judges for this bout are Gwen Towbar, Stewart Dunkirk and Frank Dennis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cudlitz has his takedown stuffed

and Speer counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.
Speer working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.
Speer wants to advance to full mount but Cudlitz doesn't think that's going to happen and regains full guard instead.
Speer being controlled here momentarily.
Cudlitz is looking to stand up but Speer isn't so interested in that idea.
Speer preventing the sweep.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Speer is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound.
Cudlitz has his hands on Speer's head, controlling the position.

Cudlitz working for a triangle but Speer defends it easily.

Cudlitz is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Cudlitz avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
Speer postures up in Cudlitz's guard and throws a big left but Cudlitz blocks it.
Speer loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
Speer has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
Speer won't allow Cudlitz to get back to his feet.
Speer working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
Speer postures up and lands a big shot to Cudlitz's brow.
Speer with a flurry of punches that miss.
Speer prevents Cudlitz from getting back to his feet.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Cudlitz keeping moving, preventing Speer from controlling successfully.
Speer in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
Cudlitz utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Speer throwing strikes but missing.
Cudlitz wants to stand but Speer is controlling the position.
Speer distracts Cudlitz with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.
Cudlitz wants to get back to his feet but Speer is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
Speer throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Speer looking to sit in guard and control but Cudlitz gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Speer looking for a sweep. Not yet Speer, not yet.
Cudlitz slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
In the pre-fight buildup videos we saw Cudlitz working his ground and pound in the gym. He isn't landing a great percentage of his ground strikes so far though.
Cudlitz works a leg free and moves into half guard.
Cudlitz seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
Cudlitz moves into full mount! Speer won't be happy about that!

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Cudlitz lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.
The referee warns Speer that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.
Cudlitz trying to control but he's not successful this time.
Cudlitz landing strikes from the mount and Speer is in trouble!
Cudlitz is in the full mount, landing strikes.

Speer is rocked!
Cudlitz controlling the pace for now.
Speer tries to get back to half guard but can't.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Cudlitz landing shots from mount.
Oh Speer is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Cudlitz postures up and throws a couple of big shots that have Speer in real trouble here! The ref calls for Speer to improve his position which he doesn't do, so the referee has no choice but to end the fight due to the strikes!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:57 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Michael Cudlitz!
A very excited looking Michael Cudlitz made sure he remembered to thank all the fans both in the arena and on the internet. He said all the coolest people spend all day on MMA websites, which got a big reaction.
