Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Klose misses with a right hand
and Patterson counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.

Patterson throws a hook but Klose blocks it.

Patterson has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.

It looks like Jerricho Patterson has been cut.

Klose bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Patterson's head backwards.

Patterson fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Klose has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.

and Klose counters with a good low kick that Patterson was not able to check.
Heinrich Klose is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Klose throws a hook to the side of Patterson's head but Patterson sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Patterson fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Klose manages to avoid it.
Patterson lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Jerricho Patterson seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

That was a close round but I would say that Heinrich Klose will probably get the nod.

Heinrich Klose's cut is bleeding quite badly. He's got to try and protect it.
Patterson stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Klose swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Patterson drops back, looking for a kneebar! Klose looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Klose looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Klose!

Klose content to control the pace. The referee will try and keep them active though.
Patterson is looking to slip a leg under and get half guard but Klose is one step ahead and moves to full mount!

Klose manages to capitalize on a mistake by Patterson to take his back!

So, who will make the next big move? In this position it could be crucial.
Heinrich Klose overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Klose has the hooks in. Patterson is trying to push off one leg but he has to do so cautiously to avoid being submitted.
Patterson is very frustrated here, being controlled quite effectively by Klose.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Heinrich Klose.
