Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Jannick Michielsen (ranked 4007 p4p, 3972 weight class) and Alexander Stevens (ranked 469 p4p, 462 weight class). The crowd seem to be enjoying Stevens's choice of entrance music: Jailhouse rock. Alexander Stevens told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jannick Michielsen!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Alexander Stevens!
The judges for this bout are Jonathan Paton, Bruno Lombardi and Dean Styles.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Stevens shoots in for a takedown but Michielsen shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Michielsen looks to land a combination but Stevens avoids it well.
Stevens looks to land a body kick but Michielsen moved away.
Stevens shoots in and bounces Michielsen off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
Stevens is standing up over Michielsen. Michielsen looks to escape but Stevens dives into side control.
Stevens is working Michielsen over with some ground and pound from side control.
Michielsen is trying to get back to his feet.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Stevens stands up and beckons Michielsen to his feet.
Sloppy strikes from Michielsen. Those never looked like landing.
Stevens misses with a takedown attempt - Michielsen sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Michielsen throws a push kick but Stevens slaps the foot to one side.
Michielsen feints a jab promting Stevens to slip. Michielsen then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Stevens slips again and ducks right into an uppercut.
It looks like Alexander Stevens has been cut.
Stevens gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Michielsen counters with a straight right hand.
Jannick Michielsen has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Alexander Stevens.
Michielsen walks forward and throws out a flicking leg kick. Stevens checks it nicely though, as he moves to the side.
We've been told by Michielsen's head coaches at Desert Fitness & Training (14 Elite Coaches) that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.
Michielsen tries to score with a low kick but Stevens moves his leg out of the way.
Michielsen closes the distance and clinches.
Michielsen breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Stevens fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Stevens just manages to avoid a counter high kick fromMichielsen.
Michielsen uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Stevens has time to react.
Stevens showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Michielsen.
Michielsen lands a slapping body shot.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Michielsen gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Michielsen is looking to stand back up... there's a bit of a scramble and Stevens dives into side control.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
Stevens tries to move to mount but Michielsen blocks the move with his legs.
Michielsen tries to wriggle free to get back to his feet but he's given up his back! Oops.
Stevens is punishing Michielsen with some ground and pound.
Stevens is throwing punches to the body, looking to soften Michielsen up.
Stevens is working on the RNC. He looks like he's got it but Michielsen won't tap... Oh, he's out! The ref rips Stevens off his unconscious opponent!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:57 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Alexander Stevens!
A relieved looking Alexander Stevens thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
