Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between James Howlett (ranked 3096 p4p, 6403 weight class) and Francis OMalley (ranked 380 p4p, 624 weight class). Howlett kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Indestructible. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
OMalley shoots in for a double leg but Howlett sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Howlett fails in his attempt to clinch.

Howlett dives in and scores a takedown into OMalley's guard.
OMalley wants to stand and escape but Howlett is having none of it.

Howlett is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
OMalley is trying to keep Howlett in close.
OMalley looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Howlett drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Howlett jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Howlett passes OMalley's left leg - he's now in half guard.

Howlett looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
