Simunic comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Monster kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Uncle Abner has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sloppy strikes from Abner. Those never looked like landing.
Antun Simunic seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Simunic misses with a kick to the body.
Abner throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.

and Abner counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Abner throws a series of punches but Simunic avoids them all with ease.
A jab from Simunic finds it's way through Abner's defenses.

It looks like Uncle Abner has been cut.
Abner has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Simunic.

Simunic gets a clinch.
I was talking to Abner's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight.
Simunic lands with a left to the head.
Abner takes a shot to the head.
Simunic scores with an uppercut up the middle.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Simunic pushes Abner against the cage. Simunic is working some dirty boxing. Simunic pushes off with a quick right hook! Abner goes down! Abner tries to stand but stumbles back to his kness! Simunic moves in to finish and the ref steps in to prevent any more damage!
