The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jones throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Jones throws a half hearted mid kick.
Jones blocks a head kick by Adesanya.
Adesanya checks a leg kick.
Adesanya moves in looking to clinch but Jones pushes him off.
Jones tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Adesanya was well out of range. Poor timing from Jones.
Jones throws a leg kick but Adesanya sees it coming and checks it nicely.

Jones is pressed up against the cage. Adesanya has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Jones down to the mat. Jones avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.

Adesanya closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Jones manages to get underhooks and slows down the pace for a moment.
Adesanya is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Jones to keep the fight standing.
Adesanya throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but Jones blocks it with crossed arms.
Jones lands with a short punch from the clinch.
Jones tries to work over Adesanya's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target.
Jones content to slow the pace in the clinch.
Adesanya gets an overhook and lands an elbow to the side of the head.
Jones tries to land knees in the clinch but Adesanya avoids the damage to the body.

Jones lands with a quick shot inside that doesn't really do much damage.
Adesanya creates a bit of space for himself and sneaks an elbow through Jones's defenses.

Jones is trying to push Adesanya away but Adesanya has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere.
Oh Jones is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Jones struggles to land a body shot inside as Adesanya controls his hands.
Jones seems to have got his legs back now.
Adesanya is looking to take this one to the mat.
Mike Jones has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Anderson Adesanya.

I was talking to Jones's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight.
Adesanya is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Jones is defending well for now.

Jones pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Adesanya tries to clinch up.

Jones is looking to wear down Adesanya with body shots, infact he's throwing more body shots than head shots at the moment.
Jones dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Jones fails to land with a series of punches.
Adesanya has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Adesanya there as he acknowledges the shot.
Adesanya is still on wobbly legs! Can Jones finish him?
Adesanya tries to clinch but Jones is having none of it.
Jones uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Adesanya has time to react.
Adesanya throws a head kick but Jones moves out of range.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Jones feints with a jab and clips Adesanya right behind the ear with a massive overhand right! Adesanya is sent crashing into the canvas and Jones leaps in for the kill! Adesanya tries to get to his feet but Jones is just battering him from every conceivable angle. The ref decides that Adesanya is in need of a savior and steps in!
