Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Tommy Gunn!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 14 - 15 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Sota Sankari!
The judges for this bout are Gwen Towbar, Stewart Dunkirk and Tiny Johnson.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sankari throws a right and a left that both miss.
Sankari instigates a clinch.
Sankari manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back.
Sankari looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it.
Gunn trying to control but Sankari is working from the bottom.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Sankari tries to land a sweep but no joy.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Sankari has a closed guard, preventing Gunn from standing up.
Gunn won't allow Sankari to sweep him here.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.
Sankari is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up.
Gunn dodges the punch combination from Sankari.
Sankari looks to clinch
and Gunn counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Gunn scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Sankari doesn't seem bothered though.
Sankari looks winded!
Sankari fails with the takedown
and Gunn counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Sankari tries to clinch
and Gunn makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.
Gunn throws a quick head kick that skims the top of Sankari's head.
It looks like Sota Sankari has been cut.
Gunn looks to be in better condition than last time we saw him fight. Obviously he's been working hard on his cardio.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
Gunn lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Sankari at a distance.
Whack! Gunn lands a heavy head kick that drops Sankari. The ref tackles Gunn to stop the fight - a great save by the referee because Sankari was done.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:15 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Head Kick). Tommy Gunn!
