PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Daniel Brand (ranked 3333 p4p, 23173 weight class) and Silver Bullion (ranked 101 p4p, 191 weight class). I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Silver Bullion was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 17 - 15 - 2, fighting out of Amsterdam, Daniel Brand!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 9 - 1, fighting out of Montreal, Silver Bullion!
The judges for this bout are Patrick Alders, Radbod Blank and Nard Betker.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Brand showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Bullion.
Bullion swings widly with a right hand
and Brand counters with a nice uppercut.
Bullion throws a right and a left that both miss.
No luck for Bullion with that takedown attempt.
A punch combination from Bullion misses.
Brand connects with a right hand. Bullion shakes it off.
Bullion fails with an attempt to clinch.
Bullion closes this distance looking for a takedown but Brand circles away.
Bullion misses with a two punch combination.

Bullion closes the distance and clinches.
Bullion lands with a good tight uppercut to the head.
Bullion is trying to pull guard but Brand turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch.
Daniel Brand has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Silver Bullion.
Bullion jumps guard but Brand stands there with Bullion around his waist. Bullion gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

Brand pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

Brand swats away the attempt to clinch by Bullion.

Brand tries to keep at a distance but Bullion has taken the fight into the clinch.

Brand escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Brand misses with a straight left.
Brand misses with an uppercut.
Bullion slips under a jab from Brand.

Bullion is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.

It looks like Silver Bullion has been cut.
Bullion fails with an attempt to clinch.
Daniel Brand is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Brand moving in and out of range nicely, whilst landing the scoring shot.
A punch combination from Bullion misses.
Brand is using his height advantage well here, landing a good percentage of his punches.
Bullion moves out of range of the strikes.
Bullion throws a right and a left that Brand avoids nicely.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Bullion tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Brand paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Bullion needs to keep his hands up - Brand had a free shot at his head there.
Bullion lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Brand circles away quickly and effectively.
Bullion shoots for a double leg takedown but Brand sprawls well. He's pushed Bullion's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Bullion shoots in for a takedown but Brand shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
The fight stays on the outside here - Bullion looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Brand swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect.
Brand looks to land a left hand but Bullion moved out of range nicely.
Bullion throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Brand counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.

Bullion fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Brand, pushing him back against the cage.

Brand breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Bullion lands three nice shots there - that looked like it hurt!
Bullion tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Brand paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Brand was looking to counter that last move with a shot to the body but he didn't commit.
Brand is really head hunting here, hardly looking to strike to the body at all.
Bullion works over Brand's head and body with a nice combination.
Bullion dodges the punch combination from Brand.
Bullion shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Brand as he avoids it easily.
Good standup being displayed there by Brand as he connects with a hook.

Bullion has managed to clinch.

Brand's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Brand scores with a straight right hand, right through his opponent's guard.
Brand keeps the fight on the outside.
Brand is using his reach advantage well here, landing the more effective single shots from range.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
The fight stays on the outside here - Bullion looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

Bullion fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Brand, pushing him back against the cage.

Bullion tries for a takedown. No joy.

Brand's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

Bullion clinches with his opponent.

Brand breaks the clinch.
Nice uppercut there from Brand.
Brand scores with a body shot.

Bullion moves into range and clinches up with Brand.
Bullion tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Brand smiles and moves away.
Brand connects with a single shot there.
The crowd cheers as Brand lands an impressive looking overhand right. Bullion doesn't seem phased though.
Brand takes a swing at Bullion's ribcage but misses.
A jab from Brand finds it's way through Bullion's defenses.
Brand throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Daniel Brand dominated that round.
The cut man is working on Silver Bullion's cut.
That's time! Back to the action!

A combination from Bullion does no damage.
Brand misses with the combination.
Brand keeps the fight on the outside.
Bullion throws a right and a left that Brand avoids nicely.

Bullion moves into range and clinches up with Brand.

Brand breaks from the clinch.
Bullion tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Brand manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
It looked like Brand wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit.
Brand with a jab.
Brand works Bullion's body with a nice hook.
Bullion throws a combination that misses

and Brand lands a stunning uppercut that sends Bullion to the mat!

Bullion is rocked!
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Brand stands up out of the half guard.
Brand jabs Bullion to the body, keeping him at a distance.

Bullion is breathing heavily.

Brand steps into range and cracks Bullion with a monster punch that buckles his knees! Bullion flops backwards and Brand dives into his guard looking to finish!
Bullion is still in real trouble! Can Brand finish him?

Brand stands up from Bullion's guard - Brand perhaps looking for a knockout.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Brand wobbles Bullion with a right hand and the left hook that follows puts him on his rear! Brand dives in with a huge flying punch that connects right on the button and puts Bullion to sleep! - What a violent and spectacular finish!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:08 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Daniel Brand!
