Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Kenjiro Oka (ranked 3043 p4p, 4797 weight class) and Brendon Rownie (ranked 410 p4p, 570 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Kenjiro Oka! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Brendon Rownie! The judges for this bout are Sosuke Kotani, Yuuki Gou and Taro Takaoka.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Nice defenses there by Oka. Oka half commits to a counter takedown before pushing away, out of range. Rownie blocks a head kick by Oka.
Rownie swings away with a counter right hand but no contact made. Rownie connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son. Oka moves away from the strike by Rownie. Rownie looks to land a left hand but Oka moved out of range nicely. Rownie decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard. Rownie wants to lay and pray for a moment but Oka keeps working. Rownie is controlling the pace.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Oka moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard. Rownie trying to control the position from guard on top but Oka is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
That's one minute gone in the round. Oka manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Rownie manages to get himself to full guard.
Oka thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. Rownie is looking to stand up but Oka isn't so interested in that idea. Oka trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Oka pushing down on Rownie's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work. Rownie has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Oka is working away from the top position though. Rownie tries to get to full guard but Oka has control of the leg. Oka stops Rownie from getting back to his feet.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Rownie is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Oka sitting and controlling from the half guard. Rownie is refusing to be controlled, as Oka sits in half guard. Oka is taking a breather. Rownie says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something. Rownie is defending against the submission attempts here by Oka.
Oka is keen to just control but Rownie is a slippery customer.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Rownie trying to control but Oka postures up.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters, thinking about a standup. Oka controlling the action here.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Oka darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard. Oka is looking for a kimura here.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Oka has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent. Rownie is trying to get back to full guard. Rownie is trying to stand up here but Oka is controlling him well. Oka is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there. Oka seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Rownie does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Well, if Oka is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.

That was a close round but I would say that Kenjiro Oka will probably get the nod. Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! Rownie jabbing away but nothing is landing. Rownie scores with a punch to the head. Oka looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. Rownie jabs Oka right on the nose. Oka blinks but takes it well. Rownie lands with an overhand left. Rownie scores with a crisp jab that stopped Oka in his tracks. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Rownie swinging wildly here.
Rownie misses with a straight right. Oka seemed to be looking to counter by closing the distance. Rownie waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Oka.
That's one minute gone in the round. Rownie connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt. Oka dives in and grabs Rownie's left leg, looking for a takedown. Rownie pushes down on Oka's head and hops out. Rownie drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Rownie trying to control the position but Oka is working away. Oka is trying to get back to half guard. Oka manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu! Oka seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Rownie does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Rownie has been the more effective fighter overall so far. Oka is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Rownie sees it coming and defends easily. Oka is working for a kimura but Rownie is defending it quite comfortably.

Rownie tries to kick Oka off but Oka keeps his base steady and stays in half guard. Oka controlling the action here.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Rownie is refusing to be controlled, as Oka sits in half guard. Rownie tries to roll over but Oka keeps him under control. Rownie is doing well to avoid being mounted. He's controlling the position at the moment. Oka is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there. Oka seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Rownie does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back. Oka looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding. Rownie is staying active underneath Oka, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet. Oka slips under a jab from Rownie. Oka drops down looking for a counter takedown but Rownie sprawls and moves away. Oka swings for the body but Rownie moves out of range.
Oka throws a body kick that misses. A little jabbing left from Rownie on the counter but it doesn't find it's target. Oka looks to score with a jab to the body but Rownie is just out of range. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Oka throws a sloppy head kick and Rownie moves out of range easily. Rownie tries to clinch but Oka moves away and Oka counters with a single leg into guard. Rownie didn't expect that. Oka's corner is telling him to maintain position. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Brendon Rownie showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards. Rownie stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush. Brendon Rownie seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Rownie misses with a hook. Oka swung with a counter punch to the body but it didn't connect. Rownie takes the fight into the clinch. Oka is looking to break free of the clinch but Rownie has double underhooks. Rownie prevents a takedown attempt there.
Oka wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Oka jumps guard but Rownie turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing. Rownie is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Oka is defending well for now. Rownie's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Rownie might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable.
That's one minute gone in the round. Oka moves out of range of the strikes. Rownie gets in close and instigates a clinch. Oka is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Rownie to keep the fight standing. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Kenjiro Oka. That's going to take a lot out of him. Oka jumps guard but Rownie turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing. Rownie keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Oka's efforts to push away. Rownie prevents the takedown attempt.
Oka tries to score a body lock takedown but Rownie shows good agility there to stay on his feet. Oka is looking to take this one to the mat. Rownie has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Oka regains guard immediately.

Oka has his foot on Rownie's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Rownie works his way back into a safe position though. Oka tries to land a sweep but no joy. Rownie pushing down on Oka's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work. Rownie looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding. Kenjiro Oka overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Oka is not content to let Rownie control the position. Rownie tries to stand and escape but Oka is controlling the position. Oka is trying to control but can't.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Oka is staying active underneath Rownie, who seems content to just control the action from this position. Oka manages to get to full guard.
Oka is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Rownie defends well. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Oka wants to sweep but no luck. Oka is pulling down on Rownie's head to control his posture. Rownie looking to sit in guard and control but Oka gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top. Rownie trying to control the position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Oka showing good wrestling skills to control the position. Oka stands and throws Rownie's legs to the side, diving into side control. Rownie stops Oka from passing to mount. Rownie tries to get back to half guard but can't. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! The referee asks Oka politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Oka prefers to stall for the moment though. Oka tries to advance to mount but Rownie denies him.
And that's the end of the fight! Brendon Rownie comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I think Rownie has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
