Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Nigel Diaz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Hawk Hero (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Diaz kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genuis that is Pastor Troy- Just to Fight. The key to victory for Nigel Diaz has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Nigel Diaz! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Hawk Hero! The judges for this bout are Sergei Dronov, Aleksandr Martynov and Illya Tyunina.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Hero throws a head kick that half lands.
Diaz moves into range and clinches up with Hero. Diaz has had enough of the clinch but Hero keeps him there for the moment. Diaz can't break the clinch.
Diaz breaks the clinch.
Diaz walks forward, straight into a front kick from Hero. Left hook, right uppercut from Diaz. Diaz lands with a head kick! That's gotta hurt. Diaz tries to clinch but Hero moves out of range. Hero tries to clinch but Diaz moves away and Diaz counters with a stiff right hand. Hero avoids the head kick by Diaz.
Diaz looks for a takedown but Hero sprawls well. Hawk Hero seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Diaz misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Diaz fails with a takedown attempt. Diaz drives through and clinches with Hero against the cage.
Diaz is breathing heavily. Diaz managing to block the knees to the body from Hero.
Hero lands a knee to the head there! That was nasty!
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Diaz can't break the clinch.
That's one minute gone in the round. Diaz looking to slow down the pace here. Diaz tries to break the clinch but Hero is controlling the position. Hero misses with an elbow strike.
Hero lands an elbow inside. Hero trying to stall but Diaz improves his position.
Diaz jumps into guard, dragging Hero to the mat.
Diaz has his hands on Hero's head, controlling the position. Hero wants to stand but Diaz is controlling his posture from full guard. Hero controls from within his opponent's guard. Hero avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Hero stays in close to Diaz's body and controls the position. Hero trying to pass the guard. He's being very persistent here but Diaz manages to land a sweep and now he's on top! Diaz trying to control the position from guard on top but Hero is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Hero wants to get back to his feet but Diaz is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Diaz stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Hero swivels though and keeps the full guard. Hero wants to stand and escape but Diaz is having none of it. Hero trying to control the position.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Diaz closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard. Diaz seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Hero does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back. Hero wants to get back to full guard but Diaz has passed into side control.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Diaz controlling from mount. Diaz won't let Hero get back to his feet... He wants to keep the fight where it is for now. Diaz looking to control but Hero is working nicely, looking to advance position himself. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Hero is looking to get to half guard. Diaz sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment. Hero tries to lock up and control but Diaz gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Nigel Diaz will probably get the nod. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.
Hero tries to clinch and Hero takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles. Diaz is looking to land body kicks. Nigel Diaz is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Hero keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. Diaz ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Hero moves away. Diaz throws a right and a left that both miss. A head kick misses from Diaz. Hero closes the distance looking to clinch so Diaz counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility. Diaz prevents Hero from getting back to his feet. Hero has a butterfly guard looking to sweep but Diaz has passed into side control.
Diaz taking a breather here. Hero is breathing heavily.
That's one minute gone in the round. Hero struggling a bit here. Diaz just content to control the position. Diaz wants to lay and pray for a moment but Hero keeps working. Diaz laying and praying for a moment but Hero takes advantage and regains half guard. Hero pushes Diaz off looking to stand but Diaz dives back in and keeps control.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Diaz is keen to just control but Hero is a slippery customer. Diaz tries to pass the half guard into mount. Hero knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt. It looks like Diaz is going to stand back up.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Hero showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Diaz.
Diaz thuds a left hand into Hero's body. Hero stuffs the takedown. Hero closes the distance but Diaz moves to the side and Diaz counters with a one-two to the body. Hero closes the distance but Diaz moves to the side and Diaz counters with a series of strikes. Hero will be more careful next time no doubt.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Hero wants to clinch up but Diaz keeps it at a distance. Diaz lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Hero backs up against the cage.
Diaz lands with a slapping head kick.
Hero is rocked! Diaz connects with a jab and follows up with a big overhand right! Oh that's hurt Hero! He's out on his feet! Diaz rushes in and drops Hero with another big right hand, forcing the referee to stop the fight!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:17 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Punches). Nigel Diaz!
