Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Lenny Kowalski (ranked 187 p4p, 1222 weight class) and Mikhail Orlov (ranked 30 p4p, 165 weight class). Mikhail Orlov has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 21 - 8 - 0, fighting out of New York, Lenny Kowalski!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 35 - 15 - 0, fighting out of New York, Mikhail Orlov!
The judges for this bout are Sam Margolis, James Ackerman and Paul Tew.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kowalski blocks a jab.

Orlov goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.

It looks like Lenny Kowalski has been cut.

Orlov feints a jab promting Kowalski to slip. Orlov then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Kowalski slips again and ducks right into an uppercut.

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Orlov sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though.

Kowalski is working for a submission of some sort.
Kowalski wants to control but Orlov is keeping him busy.

Kowalski is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

Orlov is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Kowalski pulls his head out easily.
Orlov tries to kick Kowalski off but Kowalski keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
Kowalski thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

What can Orlov do to escape this position? He's going to have to figure it out pretty quick if he wants to stay in the fight!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Kowalski is working really hard to secure the rear naked choke. Orlov defends successfully for a significant amount of time. Both fighters are looking very determined.
Kowalski scores with some strikes to the side of the head there. Good, points scoring shots.

That was a close round but I would say that Lenny Kowalski will probably get the nod.
Both fighters have cut men working on them during the interval.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

A telegraphed right hand from Orlov misses the target.
Mikhail Orlov seems to be getting the better of the standup.

Kowalski feints and as Orlov raises his hands in defense, Kowalski changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Orlov wants to stand up but Kowalski is controlling him.
Kowalski looking to pass the guard.
Orlov is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
Kowalski looking to sit in guard and control but Orlov gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.

Kowalski throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.

Orlov swings wildly with an uppercut but Kowalski uses good head movement to avoid it.

Orlov is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Kowalski is defending well for now.

Kowalski with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.
Kowalski is looking to wear down Orlov with body shots, infact he's throwing more body shots than head shots at the moment.
Kowalski just misses with a punch to the body.
Orlov takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.
Kowalski will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

Orlov bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Kowalski's head backwards.

Kowalski closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Kowalski lands in his opponent's guard.

Orlov is looking for a triangle but Kowalski pushes his legs off easily.

Orlov working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Kowalski doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Kowalski manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Orlov takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Kowalski controls the pace of the fight for a moment.

Orlov can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Kowalski controls the pace.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Kowalski takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.

Kowalski passes Orlov's left leg - he's now in half guard.

And that's the end of the fight!
That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Lenny Kowalski.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Kowalski, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
