PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Tyler Crowe (ranked 1673 p4p, 2549 weight class) and Jung Lee (ranked 223 p4p, 313 weight class). Jung Lee told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the welterweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Tyler Crowe!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Jung Lee!
The judges for this bout are Robert Douchet, Ian Loll and William Peck.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nice defenses there by Crowe.
Crowe will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Crowe shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Lee defends it nicely.
Lee throws a hook but Crowe blocks it.
Crowe slips a jab from Lee.
A big right from Lee misses.
Crowe appears to be looking for a counter takedown.
Lee leaves Crowe with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Lee looked like he wanted to counter with a punch but didn't throw it.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Tyler Crowe. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Lee jabs. That one connects to the head of his opponent.
Crowe looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Tyler Crowe seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Lee is looking to clinch.
Crowe ducks under a wild hook from Lee.
Crowe with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Lee to score with a decent uppercut.

It looks like Tyler Crowe has been cut.
Crowe looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Jung Lee is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Crowe looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Lee is fending him off so far but Crowe persists. Nope, Lee circles away and we're back to standing.

Lee cracks Crowe with a big right hand that sends him crashing to the floor. Lee has the opportunity to follow him to the ground but instead he's beckoning Crowe to stand back up!

Crowe is rocked!
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Crowe.
Oh Crowe is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Crowe fails with a takedown attempt.
Crowe shoots in and drives through. Lee sprawls well.
Crowe seems to have got his legs back now.
Lee connects with a right hand. Crowe shakes it off.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Lee has closed the distance and engaged Crowe in a clinch.
Crowe jumps guard but Lee stands there with Crowe around his waist. Crowe gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Crowe is trying to pull guard but Lee has him pressed against the cage.
Lee cracks Crowe with a nice body shot.
Crowe is breathing heavily.
Lee lands with a quick shot inside that doesn't really do much damage.
Crowe is trying to pull guard but Lee has him pressed against the cage.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Crowe tries to pull guard but Lee forces him back to his feet, against the cage.
Lee's coach down at Hotrod Express MMA Training was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Lee's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight.
Crowe jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Lee walks away with a smile on his face. Crowe gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

Lee feints and then winds up with a huge right hand that connects perfectly and sends Crowe sprawling to the canvas! Crowe rolls over backwards and springs off the cage and manages to regain his footing - how acrobatic! Oh, he's still wobbly - can Lee finish him?!
Both fighters step back and shake their arms out. Lee engages and cracks Crowe with a massive lead left hook - Crowe tumbles to the floor, out cold! What a shot! Lee is delighted - all that hard work in training paid off!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:19 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Jung Lee!
Jung Lee is the new welterweight champion!
Jung Lee seemed lost for words in his post fight interview but he remembered to thank his fans and directed everyone to his website.
