Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between James Aya (ranked 2814 p4p, 3702 weight class) and Dumitru Mazilu (ranked 366 p4p, 460 weight class). Mazilu is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Noi suntem poporul, jos cu dictatoru. Dumitru Mazilu will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Dumitru Mazilu!
The judges for this bout are Alec Ball, Trevor Gratis and Elvis Blanc.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mazilu lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Aya.
Mazilu loads up on a big right hand but Aya slips the punch.
Aya tries to counter with a takedown but Mazilu is quick to defend against it.
Mazilu lands a jab to the nose.
Mazilu will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Mazilu stuffs the takedown.
Mazilu closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Mazilu lands in his opponent's guard.
Aya could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Mazilu is working Aya over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.

Hammerfist, elbow! yells Mazilu's corner. There ya go! There ya go!
Mazilu working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Aya's head.
Aya has momentary wrist control but Mazilu slips an elbow through the middle.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Aya escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Mazilu gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Mazilu postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head.

Aya looking for a guillotine here but Mazilu defends easily.

My spies in Kalashnikov ELITE MMA Gym inform me that Mazilu has been getting involved in the gym's BJJ sparring sessions. Let's see whether that pays dividends!

Aya is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Mazilu defends well.
Aya working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Mazilu doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Oh but Aya is tightening it up a little... Mazilu has to be careful here... He's got his foot tucked under now, this looks tight! Mazilu reacted too slowly and this one could be over in a matter of seconds! YES! Mazilu taps out! Nice BJJ there by Aya!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:59 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle Choke). James Aya!
A relieved looking James Aya thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
