Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Yuxiang Wu (ranked 2282 p4p, 3534 weight class) and Suzaku Kururugi (ranked 328 p4p, 471 weight class). The fight MMA fans around the world have waited their entire lives for!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 5 - 0, fighting out of London, Yuxiang Wu!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, Suzaku Kururugi!
The judges for this bout are Bruno Lombardi, Lou da Vinci and David Schapiro.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Wu scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.
Wu tries to pass the half guard into mount. Kururugi knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Wu passes to full mount!
Kururugi is trying desperately to improve position.
Wu wants to take his opponent's back but Kururugi doesn't allow it.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Kururugi blocking the ground and pound.
Wu can't control as he wanted to and Kururugi manages to get the fight back to his half guard.

Wu is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Kururugi doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Wu.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Wu tries to pass to full mount but Kururugi defends it.
Wu thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
Wu prevents Kururugi from improving his position.

Wu is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Wu is controlling the pace.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.

Wu is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.
Kururugi is not content to let Wu control the position.
Wu tries to pass to full mount but Kururugi defends it.
Wu stalling.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Wu is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Wu tries to pass the half guard into mount. Kururugi knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
Wu content to control rather than advance.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Kururugi throws a leg kick but Wu checks it.
Wu changes levels looking for a counter takedown but doesn't commit.

Wu shoots in and bounces Kururugi off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.

Wu drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Kururugi manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Wu has Kururugi in his guard.


That's four minutes gone in the round.

Wu is actively looking for submissions from his back. He's worked himself a little space on the bottom and seems to be going for a triangle. No, he's switched into an armbar! That was slick! Kururugi rolls with it to try and escape but Wu cranks on the arm and Kururugi is forced to tap out! This one is aaaaaaaaall over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:30 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Yuxiang Wu!
Yuxiang Wu seemed lost for words in his post fight interview but he remembered to thank his fans and directed everyone to his website.
