Cormier comes into the arena with Face the Pain blaring out of the sound system. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 5 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Daniel Cormier! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 13 - 13 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Black Caesar! The judges for this bout are Colin Fray, Ryoma Takatsuka and Paul Gruel.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Caesar moves out of range of the strikes. Cormier looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight. Caesar throws a series of strikes that have Cormier backpedaling.
Cormier takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.
Cormier fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Caesar sprawls well initially but Cormier persists and gets the takedown into half guard. Caesar slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work. Caesar controlling Cormier's posture. Cormier is looking to advance position but Caesar has hit a scissor sweep - now he's on top in mount!
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Cormier is looking to improve his position but Caesar isn't that keen on the idea. Cormier knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Caesar on the ground. Cormier tries to hold on but Caesar postures up. Cormier is desperately trying to improve his position but Caesar has a good base and remains in mount.
That's one minute gone in the round. Caesar wants to take his opponent's back but Cormier doesn't allow it. Caesar looking to control and managing it successfully.
