Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Mickey Cowan (ranked 680 p4p, 968 weight class) and Napoleon Panda (ranked 38 p4p, 53 weight class). Mickey Cowan has a significant reach advantage - let's see if he can make it count.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 8 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Mickey Cowan!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 9 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Napoleon Panda!
The judges for this bout are Bruno Lombardi, Lou da Vinci and John Roberts.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Cowan is looking to counter the offense by Panda and move into the clinch.

We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.

Panda escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Cowan gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Panda is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Cowan defends well.

Panda is looking for a triangle here but Cowan uses the submission attempt to pass into side control.
Cowan is moving around in side control but his primary objective seems to be to maintain the position.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Panda has been looking to improve his clinch game in recent weeks. Cowan seems to have the measure of him in the clinch so far, so let's see if Panda can turn it around.
Panda jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Cowan walks away with a smile on his face. Panda gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Panda shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Cowan pinned against the cage. Cowan gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

Panda swings around for an armbar but Cowan sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Panda's guard.

Panda shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Panda was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
