Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between John Reese (ranked 4231 p4p, 4213 weight class) and Lubor Straka (ranked 532 p4p, 529 weight class). The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 4 - 4 - 0, fighting out of New York, John Reese! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Lubor Straka! The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, Jack Bonds and Timothy Bukovac.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Straka misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Straka connects with a body shot. Straka throws a big shot that misses. Reese shoots for a takedown but Straka saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. Straka misses with a body shot.
Reese dives in and grabs Straka's left leg, looking for a takedown. Straka pushes down on Reese's head and hops out. A slow jab from Straka misses its intended target. Reese fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for John Reese. That's going to take a lot out of him. Reese instigates a clinch. Straka being controlled against the cage. Reese breaks from the clinch.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Straka keeps the fight on the outside. Straka looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Reese is fending him off so far but Straka persists. Nope, Reese circles away and we're back to standing. Straka shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Reese eats them both and turns towards Straka to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Straka shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Reese as he jumps to the side.
That's one minute gone in the round. Straka misses the jab. Straka uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Reese.
Reese is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.
Straka gets caught flat footed, as Reese shoots in with a quick takedown into guard. Straka is looking for a triangle but Reese pushes his legs off easily.
Straka working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Reese doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Reese manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Straka not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Reese preventing the sweep. Reese has a momentary lapse of concentration, allowing Straka to throw up a leg and lock on what appears to be a pretty tight triangle! Reese is fighting it off but it's all too little too late - Straka pulls down on the head and he's put Reese to sleep! This one is all over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:59 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle). Lubor Straka!
