Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Brian Burns (ranked 1186 p4p, 2130 weight class) and Charles Weasel (ranked 162 p4p, 274 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the light heavyweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Brian Burns!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Charles Weasel!
The judges for this bout are Don Winkell, Jack Bonds and Percy O'Donnell.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Burns lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.
Weasel checks a leg kick nicely.
Weasel shoots for a double leg takedown but Burns sprawls well. He's pushed Weasel's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Burns stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.
Burns listening to his corner there, landing a nice uppercut.

It looks like Charles Weasel has been cut.
Weasel shoots for a takedown but Burns saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
That kick from Burns tenderised Weasel's leg. Weasel is trying to keep his angry face on.

Burns looked to counter that last move with a leg kick but didn't pull the trigger.
Brian Burns has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Charles Weasel.

Burns drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Weasel is looking to regain half guard here but Burns keeps moving and retains side control.
Burns wants to lay and pray for a moment but Weasel keeps working.
Weasel is trying to control Burns's posture but Burns avoids it.

Burns working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.
Burns knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Weasel on the ground.
An elbow from Burns crashes against the mat.
Burns tries to score with some ground and pound. Weasel controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage.
Weasel has found himself in a tricky position here. He's been working his transitions in training so let's see if he can work his way out of it.

We've been hearing that Burns has been drilling a lot of ground and pound in training, so let's see if he get the finish.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

The referee is pacing around the two fighters, thinking about a standup.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Weasel avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
Weasel wants to sweep here but Burns controlling him for the moment.
Weasel manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Burns manages to get himself to full guard.

Weasel not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.

Burns on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Burns tries to get out of the position.

Burns is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Weasel bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Burns's guard.

Weasel is fighting to break Burns's control of his arms but Burns is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Weasel sitting in guard, not really doing much.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

The cut man is working on Charles Weasel's cut.
That's time! Burns's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.

Some bone on bone action there as Burns checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one.

Burns uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook.

Burns gets caught napping as Weasel dives in and scores a takedown. Burns manages to retain guard.
Weasel slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
Weasel wants to control from the top but Burns keeps moving.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Burns trying to keep a closed guard but Weasel is proving a slippery customer.
Weasel stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Burns swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Weasel passes into half guard.
Burns on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound.
Well, if Weasel is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
Weasel is trying to control the action in half guard but Burns is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Burns pushes Weasel off looking to stand but Weasel dives back in and keeps control.

Weasel is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.
Charles Weasel has got the better of the ground game so far.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.
Weasel shoots in and drives through. Burns sprawls well.
Weasel walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.

Weasel is rocked!

Burns dances in with a quick combination. Weasel is being worked over with jabs and crosses. Oooh, a right straight from Burns snaps Weasel's head back. Weasel stumbles backwards against the cage. Burns steps forward and delivers a right cross that connects with Weasel's jaw, simultaneously knocking him out and sending his mouthpiece into the crowd! There's a worthy souvenir for the fans. This one is over folks. Weasel just didn't come prepared.
