Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Rico Paco (ranked 3718 p4p, 4469 weight class) and Allan Preston (ranked 449 p4p, 519 weight class). Both fighters look pumped up here. Let's hope this is a good fight!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Rico Paco!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Allan Preston!
The judges for this bout are Anthony Taglia, John Roberts and Reed Andrews.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Preston shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Paco manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
Preston looking to sit in guard and control but Paco gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Preston had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Paco defends it easily.

Paco ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

Preston tries a head kick but it misses.

Preston changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Paco looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

Preston working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Paco holds on tight, trying to prevent any damage.
Preston creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Paco sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike.

Preston is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Paco knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Preston goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Paco rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Preston's guard! Nice work there by Paco!

Preston looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! Paco has picked Preston up and slammed him! Preston can't keep hold of the triangle and Paco manages to pass to side control!
Paco is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Preston can do to turn this around?

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.

Allan Preston showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! This is the final round!

Preston drops down looking to force a counter takedown but Paco defends it well.

Paco throws an overhand right that lands on Preston's shoulder, as Preston tries to avoid the shot.
Paco throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Preston stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.

Paco throws a lazy right hand but Preston sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Paco connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Preston's hands.

Paco is doing well to control the position and prevent Preston from advancing to side control.

Preston wants to control from the top but Paco keeps moving.
Preston is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Preston throws a big elbow that misses.
Paco is adopting a defensive guard.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.
Paco looks to score with a jab to the body but Preston is just out of range.
Preston wants to counter the offense by Paco and move into the clinch position.
Allan Preston is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Preston has a pretty nasty looking mouse under his right eye.

Paco lands a shoulder strike that jolts his opponent's head backwards.

Paco swings wildly with an uppercut but Preston uses good head movement to avoid it.
Preston is trying to pull guard but Paco has him pressed against the cage.
