PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Ovidio Kiran (ranked 359 p4p, 1288 weight class) and Jaycen Solo (ranked 52 p4p, 172 weight class). Kiran comes to the cage accompanied by Katmandu. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 17 - 5 - 0, fighting out of New York, Ovidio Kiran!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 17 - 11 - 0, fighting out of New York, Jaycen Solo!
The judges for this bout are Darius Henderson, Damien Edna and Bruno Hogan.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kiran lands a leg kick that knocks Solo off balance momentarily.
Ovidio Kiran seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Solo has Kiran up against the cage in a clinch.
Solo tries to score a body lock takedown but Kiran shows good agility there to stay on his feet.

Kiran's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Kiran works Solo's body with a nice hook.
Solo scores with a hook to the body. Kiran takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.
Kiran fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Solo manages to avoid it.
Solo closes the distance but Kiran moves to the side
and Kiran counters with a stiff right hand.
Kiran misses the jab.
Solo changes levels for a counter takedown but doesn't follow through with his attempt.
Solo will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Solo slips a jab from Kiran.
Kiran has been working on his boxing with his coaches at Brooklyn Mixed Martial Arts in the buildup to the fight.
Kiran leaves Solo with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Kiran swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect.
Ovidio Kiran has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jaycen Solo.

Kiran throws a looping overhand right but Solo ducks down to avoid it.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Kiran misses with an uppercut. Solo saw that one coming.
Kiran looks to score with a jab to the body but Solo is just out of range.
Solo shoots in for a takedown but Kiran shows good takedown defense.
Kiran connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt.

That's one minute gone in the round.
The fight stays on the outside here - Solo looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Solo.
Solo tries to clinch there but Kiran circles away.
Solo tries to clinch up.
Solo tries for a takedown but Kiran sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Kiran tried to counter with a leg kick but Solo avoided it.
Solo is trying hard to land a takedown here. Kiran sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Good exchange - Kiran coming out on top.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it!
Kiran fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.
Solo looks winded!
Nice sprawl there from Kiran as Solo shoots in.
Kiran comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.
A slapping leg kick lands for Kiran.
Kiran fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Solo looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
Kiran lands a nice shot that snaps Solo's head back.
Kiran slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Kiran keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.

Solo is rocked!
Kiran feints and then cracks Solo's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Solo down.
Solo is still on wobbly legs! Can Kiran finish him?
A solid body kick from Kiran.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Kiran drops a shoulder and throws a monster hook that connects perfectly to the side of Solo's head, knocking him out cold! Kiran is extatic as he celebrates with his cornermen.
