Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Nicky Spite (ranked 1206 p4p, 1483 weight class) and Tyson Asakura (ranked 159 p4p, 200 weight class). Asakura has chosen JJBA - Giorno's Theme as his entrance music. This should be a great matchup!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 19 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Nicky Spite!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 12 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Tyson Asakura!
The judges for this bout are Josh West, Ryoma Takatsuka and Colin Fray.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Asakura pushing out the jab but it's not landing.

Asakura closes the distance and pushes Spite back into the cage.
Asakura swings wildly with an uppercut but Spite uses good head movement to avoid it.
Asakura working aggressively here.
We've been hearing reports that Spite has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight.

Asakura escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Asakura lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected.

Asakura clinches.
Asakura lands a short shot on the inside that snaps the head of Spite backwards.
Spite stalling in the clinch but Asakura improves position.
Asakura looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Spite misses with a body punch.
Asakura scores with an uppercut up the middle.

Asakura escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Spite avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Spite ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Spite drives through with a takedown into Asakura's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.
Spite trying to control but Asakura is working from the bottom.
Spite pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Asakura is keeping the position for now.
Spite stops Asakura from standing up.
Spite wants to pass the guard but Asakura is keeping the position.

Spite thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

Spite is pushing down on Asakura's leg trying to pass to half guard. Asakura is fighting to maintain full guard but Spite has managed to sneak the leg through.
Asakura looks like he's trying to stand up.

Spite seems to be looking for submissions.
Spite wants to take a breather but Asakura is having none of it.
Asakura is looking to improve his position.
Asakura pushes Spite off looking to stand but Spite dives back in and keeps control.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up.
Tyson Asakura is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Spite walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.

Asakura has managed to clinch.

Asakura breaks the clinch.
Asakura looks to land a left hand but Spite moved out of range nicely.
Spite shoots in looking for a takedown. Asakura tries to sprawl out of it but Spite keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Asakura manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Asakura stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.

A telegraphed takedown attempt from Spite is defended easily by Asakura.
Spite doesn't manage to clinch there - Asakura circles away.

Spite looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Asakura moves into full guard.
Spite stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Asakura swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Spite drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Asakura manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Spite has Asakura in his guard.

And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Tyson Asakura dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare each other down, ready to get back to the action.


Asakura clinches with his opponent.
Spite misses with a shot to the kidneys.
Asakura has a couple of punches blocked by Spite.

Asakura's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Spite goes for a double leg but Asakura avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Asakura continues to drive forward.
Asakura lands a hook to the side of the head.
Spite doesn't land with the attempted body shot.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Asakura tries to work over Spite's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target.
Asakura lands a left hand that snaps the head of Spite backwards.

Spite is rocked!
Spite blocks a couple of punches on the inside.
Oh Spite is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Spite blocks an uppercut.
Spite blocks a couple of punches on the inside.
Asakura has a couple of punches blocked by Spite.
Spite blocks a punch to the side of the head.
Asakura misses with a hook from the clinch.
Spite blocks a couple of punches on the inside.

Asakura breaks the clinch.
Asakura has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Asakura circles away before darting back in with a big straight right hand. It connects beautifully and sends Spite tumbling to the canvas! He's out cold! Asakura wins by KO!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:05 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Tyson Asakura!
Our winner, Tyson Asakura, made sure he spent some time buttering up the crowd during his post fight interview, which will no doubt bring him a few more fans.
