Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Cecil Peabody, Frank Dennis and Alan Glass.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Fertit gets caught flat footed, as Mason shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.

Mason is looking to work some ground and pound but Fertit has wrist control.
Fertit looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! Mason has picked Fertit up and slammed him! Fertit can't keep hold of the triangle and Mason manages to pass to side control!
Fertit tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Mason wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
You can see the frustration on Fertit's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Fertit is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.
Mason is trying to control the action in half guard but Fertit is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
Mason moves into the clinch successfully.
Mason breaks the clinch.
Fertit needs to keep his hands up - Mason had a free shot at his head there.

Fertit wants to clinch
and Mason counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.
Fertit blocks a head kick by Mason.
Mason moves into the clinch successfully.
Mason scores with a shoulder strike.
Mason breaks the clinch.
Fertit has his takedown stuffed
and Mason decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Fertit's guard.
Mason wants to stand but Fertit is controlling his posture from full guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Fertit working for a triangle but Mason defends it easily.
Mason knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Fertit on the ground.
Mason lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard.

Fertit has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Mason can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Fertit is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

Fertit looking for a guillotine here but Mason defends easily.
Fertit escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Mason gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Mason wanted to stand there but Fertit had control of the position.
Fertit throws a couple of shots from the bottom but they don't land.
That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Mason trying to control but Fertit is working from the bottom.
Mason has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Fertit is proving hard to escape from.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Fertit misses with a takedown attempt
and Mason counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Fertit's guard now.
Fertit is looking for a triangle but Mason pushes his legs off easily.
Fertit has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Mason can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Fertit working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Mason doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Mason manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Mason could do with loosing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Fertit keeping moving, preventing Mason from controlling successfully.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Fertit is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Matt Mason dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
Fertit shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Fertit was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Fertit is in the full mount, landing strikes.
Fertit jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Mason is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Mason and Fertit has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.
Mason wants to escape from the position here - easier said than done!
Mason is looking for a sweep.
Mason might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Fertit has hold of Mason's arm here. He's working for an Americana. It looks like he might have it! Mason tries to escape but he's just digging himself in deeper - Fertit cranks the arm and Mason screams in pain! The ref makes a decision and ends the fight before the tap - no complains from Mason, who is just happy to have his arm attached to his body.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:03 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Americana). Dante Fertit!
