Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between David Jones (ranked 145 p4p, 1121 weight class) and Chozen Gracie (ranked 5 p4p, 32 weight class). The key to victory for David Jones has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the super heavyweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 18 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, David Jones!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 3 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Chozen Gracie!
The judges for this bout are Johanna Lukiainen, Anni Minnemäki and Matti Vanhoillinen.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gracie with a lazy takedown attempt
and Jones counters with a right hand to the body.
Decent striking displayed by Jones there.

It looks like Chozen Gracie has been cut.
Jones scores with a crisp jab that stopped Gracie in his tracks.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Jones enables Gracie to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Jones manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
Horrible takedown attempt by Gracie or perhaps it was just good defense by Jones, which made it look bad.
Jones with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.

Gracie tries to sprawl but Jones drives through with a takedown into half guard.
Gracie regains full guard. Nicely done.
Jones wants to stand and escape but instead Gracie has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.

Jones is looking to stand back up... there's a bit of a scramble and Gracie dives into side control.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Jones pushes Gracie away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Gracie gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Gracie working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that David Jones will probably get the nod.

Jones fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Gracie on the side of the head.
Jones throws a body punch but Gracie moves out of range.

Jones feints and then winds up with a huge right hand that connects perfectly and sends Gracie sprawling to the canvas! Gracie rolls over backwards and springs off the cage and manages to regain his footing - how acrobatic! Oh, he's still wobbly - can Jones finish him?!

Jones closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Gracie quickly recovers to half guard.

Gracie is rocked!
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Gracie is trying to get back to full guard.
Gracie is still in real trouble! Can Jones finish him?

Jones decides to stand and escape the position.
Gracie tries to bum rush Jones with a series of wild strikes but Jones uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Gracie seems to have recovered his senses.

Gracie is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Jones's half guard.
Gracie wants to pass to mount but Jones is defending the position.
Gracie is figuring out what he wants to do next.

Jones is not content to let Gracie control the position.
Jones looks like he's trying to stand up.
Jones is staying active underneath Gracie, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

Gracie uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Jones.

Gracie feints and as Jones raises his hands in defense, Gracie changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Gracie wants to control from the top but Jones keeps moving.
Jones wants to stand up but Gracie is controlling him.

Jones keeping moving, preventing Gracie from controlling successfully.
Jones can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Gracie controls the pace.
Gracie pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Jones is keeping the position for now.

Gracie is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Jones is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Jones has escaped and now he's on top!

Gracie has a closed guard, preventing Jones from standing up.

Jones wants to stand up, so he's looking to wriggle free of Gracie's closed guard. He's half up but Gracie has locked on to an arm! Uh oh! Gracie pivots and extends the arm, Jones falls face first to the mat and taps??... does he?? YES! He's tapping! Excellent counter grappling there by Gracie! Well done that man!
