PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Frederick Zwirn (ranked 598 p4p, 2051 weight class) and The Cucumber (ranked 82 p4p, 257 weight class). Cucumber has chosen Scooter - Nessaja as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A slow jab from Cucumber misses its intended target.
Cucumber shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Zwirn pinned against the cage. Zwirn gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Nice sprawl there from Zwirn as Cucumber shoots in.
Cucumber looks to land a right hand but Zwirn moved out of range.

Zwirn looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Zwirn smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button.

Cucumber takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
Cucumber uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Zwirn.
Zwirn drops his hands momentarily and Cucumber takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Cucumber changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Zwirn tries to avoid it but Cucumber manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Zwirn to the ground. Zwirn escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Frederick Zwirn has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of The Cucumber.

Zwirn goes for a spinning back kick but it misses.
Zwirn ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Cucumber moves away.
Cucumber tries to score a power double leg takedown but Zwirn sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Cucumber somewhat.
Zwirn was looking to counter that last move with a shot to the body but he didn't commit.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Cucumber.

Zwirn gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Cucumber to score an easy takedown into full guard.
Cucumber is standing up over Zwirn. Zwirn looks to escape but Cucumber dives into side control.

Cucumber is remaining active here, looking for the choke. The more discerning members of the crowd will appreciate his efforts.

Zwirn is trying to defend against the choke here but Cucumber has an arm under his chin. This one might not last much longer. Cucumber Tightens the hold and Zwirn taps out furiously! Cucumber displays superior BJJ to win the fight.
