Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Philipp Tyurin (ranked 3061 p4p, 1797 weight class) and Fred Ottoman (ranked 105 p4p, 60 weight class). The crowd seem to be enjoying Ottoman's choice of entrance music: Terminator Theme. Fred Ottoman has the eye of the tiger tonight.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 6 - 0, fighting out of New York, Fred Ottoman!
The judges for this bout are Patrick Alders, Saam Ante and Paul Aken.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Tyurin is looking to take this fight into the clinch.

Ottoman is pressed up against the cage. Tyurin has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Ottoman down to the mat. Ottoman avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.

Tyurin slips a straight right by Ottoman.

Ottoman slaps away a takedown attempt from Tyurin, before circling back to the center of the mat.

Tyurin tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Ottoman defends well and Tyurin ends up having to push Ottoman into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.

I was talking to Tyurin's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight.
Ottoman is leaning against Tyurin and scores with a nice uppercut to the body.
Tyurin tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Ottoman smiles and moves away.
The fighters circling - Ottoman throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Tyurin looks for a takedown but Ottoman sprawls well.

Ottoman swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Tyurin wants to take advantage of his opponent's missed offense by moving into the clinch.

Tyurin moves forwards but Ottoman connects with a nice, crisp jab.

Tyurin shoots in looking for a takedown. Ottoman tries to sprawl out of it but Tyurin keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Ottoman manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

A nice right hand lands inside from Ottoman.
With the two fighters working up against the cage, Ottoman just misses with a elbow thrown towards Tyurin's brow.

Philipp Tyurin's cut is bleeding quite badly. He's got to try and protect it.

Tyurin is trying to drag Ottoman to the mat but Ottoman just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.

Tyurin is trying to maintain a safe position but Ottoman gets an underhook and turns Tyurin into the cage.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Tyurin tries to pull guard but Ottoman holds him up against the cage and eventually Tyurin drops back down to his feet.

Fred Ottoman showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Tyurin tries to score a body lock takedown but Ottoman shows good agility there to stay on his feet.
Tyurin is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Ottoman pulls him back up using the underhooks.
Ottoman lands with a left to the head.

The referee calls the doctor in to look at Philipp Tyurin's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!

Fred Ottoman gave a mention to 88 Fight Club Clothing $50-$100 in his post fight interview. That will please them (and hopefully generate some sales).
